Yeah, and I think of all the guys I know — more R than D — who really know how to manage their money and who started in early- to mid-2020 making major moves to hedge against coming inflation (some expecting it to be much more severe and long-lasting than it it currently appears we’ll be dealing with).
You can blah-blah here about politics all you want, but in the real world, I know people with serious, ongoing discussions about policy and economic factors.
They get opinionated about different politicians and parties in their own ways, but mostly when they talk about $ together, they sort ideas out and try to learn from each other in a respectful, supportive way based on rational approaches to problems — and they put their money where their mouth is.

seriously...I live in a big city....when I go somewhere else and read the news about my big city from afar, the press makes my city look chaotic and dangerous.
Just gets more clicks I guess. But fact is, crime is very low and falling fast. I clmost never see any crime or feel at danger.

Please quit blaming inflation on Covid. Covid began in 2019 and Trump kept the inflation at 1.4% all of 2020. Biden/Harris take that 1.4% number and expeditiously ramp it up to 9% in a matter of months. Again, inflation for Harris/Biden in 2021 and 2022 were 7% and 6.5%, respectively. Covid was the cause of inflation? The inflation for Japan was 0% in 2021 and 2% in 2022. They didn't seem too affected by Covid.
Inflation is a lagging indicator. It would have been impossible for Biden to cause the spike in the first few months of his presidency.

The inflationary spike came primarily from two bills passed by congress and a couple of Biden’s executive actions. Congress controls the purse and the bipartisan congress passed the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2021 in the lame duck session of Trump’s presidency. That created the first uptick. The second uptick was created by the American Rescue Plan (AKA Blue State Bailout) which was targeted at bailing out blue states that instituted punitive, prolonged shutdowns during COVID and passed along party lines with Kamala enacting the tie breaking vote in the Senate. Lesser effects came from Biden’s executive actions on fossil fuels and some of his attempts at student loan bailouts that were able to stick. Anytime you have spending without commensurate increases in taxation you create an environment ripe for inflation. The bump from 1-4% involves some shared blame, the bump from 4-9% rests entirely with Democrats.

Noyankee doesn’t understand the difference between inflation and prices at the grocery store. He thinks if inflation goes back to the desired target rate of less than 2.0% then prices should plummet at the grocery store. He is wishing for deflation. Which is very bad.
