If you are speaking to Trumpers they love the hate and anger. They are addicted to it. Roger Stone famously said Hate is a much more powerful motivator than love. Get people angry and fearful in every single speech. Trump's current speeches are 2 hour grievance tirades where he disparages the country and it's institutions and people.

Well, perhaps it does not obliterate the idea of American exceptionalism. Perhaps it merely suggests that the exceptionalism lies in a somewhat different direction than some would like to think.
They are both horrible candidates and old and both could die before 2024.

The court cases have done the opposite- they have increased Trump's popularity. If the NYC judge decides to jail Trump- it will backfire BIGLY on the dems.
