He is actually having a pretty good day ... his Hussman Strategic is only down 0.03% today.
FAX and EMD even worse.
That is a very good analysis that you linked to above - BNNBLOOMBER.CA - regarding analysis/discussion on AMZN, AAP, META.
Honestly, Seattle, I have spent the last few days buying up the Mag 7 and will continue to do so next week. You might have a couple of stinkers (unlikely) but as a whole I think they will kick asss. As I said a couple of days ago, we are maybe 16 months into a bull market, and the average 24-month return on a bull market is 61%. Yes, 61%. The market has already gone up since the start of the bull market so we should have another 25% to go up by Oct. if average.

Great.
I've been steadily nibbling all along, adding to long standing positions.
The Apple story is an interesting one, and no small consideration, for that matter. Revenue beats overall but China growth disappoints. Stock punished and it has been flatlining well into earnings announcement besides.
I think he may have run out to buy a back support strap to help with all those wheelbarrow loads of money he must be raking in these days.
LOL. When he wheelbarrows his loads of cash into his bank - the bank managers pleads with him: Senor Flagpole no mas!, no mas! No tenemos cuarto, Senor, nosotros our rooms are llena.
Earnings Scorecard: For Q4 2023 (with 46% of S&P 500 companies reporting actual results), 72% of S&P 500 companies have reported a positive EPS surprise and 65% of S&P 500 companies have reported a positive revenue surprise.
I know that this is all built upon the bedrock of a false economy, and these seeming stock market advances are not sustainable.
I know that. We know that.
And to believe these stock market advances are sustainable is delusional.
So I looked on Amazon (don't get me started about AMZN!!!, but as I was saying....) and I found this "Brain Support supplement" that claims to boost clarity and clear headed thinking.
Do you think this might help with my delusional thinking?

Well, it is big money as just a number, but I am up just 1.35% YTD. Assuming today continues as it has, that will increase tomorrow. Still losing to the Dow in 2024 as the Dow closed up 2.20% yesterday. As I've said before, big moves/addition of new sectors aren't part of my MO anymore, and I don't have ANY individual stocks like I did in the early days (forced upon me), so I expect to go the way of a normal year based on my diversity today...no luck involved. That makes it more likely I will lose to the Dow more regularly than in the past. Time will tell. Makes no difference though at this point. The hay is in the barn, and I've need to get a bigger barn.

Nice. I know you are a musician, and one who values good musicianship in a song. With that in mind, this one's for you. Hope you like it.

And btw, thanks with all the estate planning yesterday - that went well.
Interestingly SOXS hit a low two weeks ago, and TECS last week.
Everything is done to create an illusion, like waiting until market close on a Friday to retaliate for the deaths of the three soldiers in Jordan. Or META jumps 21% on job cuts, stock buybacks, and paying a dividend. Today people accept the most bizarre as normal. Like the woman my age at Costco, dirty gray hair, with the front dyed blue.

And can you be certain that was a woman?
Glad to hear from you, and have a good one (weekend).

Seattle,
And then, maybe a decade younger a guy with a pirate earring, and his female partner a nose ring. Trying to be cool for once in their life. I suppose….
I have created a laundry list of household projects, slowly knocking them off. Saturday is tune up the lawn mower, and troubleshoot a pressure washer. That after a run, and wife to grill some fillets. Check out the marathon trials.
You have a good weekend too.
Igy
