Tens of millions of Americans (10-20% of the population) who are NOT in the cult will STILL vote for The Orange One.
All cult members.
many trump voters are not cult members
remember that china, russia and the GOP are running massive misinformation campaigns on social media. Which is where low information voters get their news. And low-information voters are getting a constant stream of 'biden is senile' and 'inflation was lower under trump so I'm voting for trump' and 'Joe is just as corrupt as trump' news. Endless.
Remember bannon's firehose theory: Shoot BS all over the landscape so voters don't know what's true or false anymore. Then you tell them what to believe via propaganda.
Bottom line is a lot of trump voters have no sense of reality and have formed their worldview based on the Chinese Communist Party, the Kremlin and the GOP's propagana division. They aren't in a cult...they just have all the facts wrong and think voting for trump is the reasonable thing to do in the face of a country they have been told is dissolving into the mud, ground down under a Democratic Party president.

Sally is, of course, completely shameless. This has been pointed out to him many, many times. He's not the worst human being on this thread, but very possibly the weirdest.
I will take weirdest over partisan hack liberal any day of the week.
Maybe my memory is just failing, but you're usually better than stringing together cutesy, "they make me feel smart" words like the Trumper GED holders do. Do you really need to disappoint us further?

Am winking at you. We both know who has the advantage in this discussion.

I guess it's kind of a commentary on the downside(s) of democracy. In the end, the vote of the citizen who "simply" doesn't pay as much attention as they should and votes for the bad person counts just as much as the vote from the (moronic and/or bad) true believer. And those 2 votes beat the single vote from the person who can see that up is not, in fact, down.

For years, I've rolled my eyes at least a bit at the very-possibly "situational" preference of D's to get rid of the electoral college.
But if the worst of what could be comes to pass in a second Trump presidency, it will be "interesting" that an arguably relatively-great country was taken down by a leader who received millions fewer votes from the populace.

Strange.
yeah democracy is an odd bird
remember that the writers of the constitution put many guards in place to stop people like trump from being elected and restraining the passions of the mob. They saw this happening. They restricted voting rights, they made senators non-elected, they put in the EC
Democracy is a child of the enlightenment. It only works well when people know stuff. It can and will fail in the face of the current onslaught by China, Russia and the GOP.
But to your point...agreed that democracy did not fail in an important way: we did not choose Bush2 or Trump. We rejected them. But the imperfect Constitution put them in office anyway.
This guy isn't in a cult either. This Klan member will vote for trump based on facts.

Lots of contradictions.
But hey, is it not at least consolation that Trumpism (and COVID?) have proven, very possibly beyond a shadow of a doubt, that our country stands ZERO chance of fixing anything in the constitution for at least decades and decades ???

Two things:
1) Fake news.
2) Slightly more seriously, let's stop giving the POTUS credit for everything good that happens in the world. Not that I follow it, but I tend to doubt that a ton of this development is clearly connected to Biden's efforts.
(maybe a more likely source of causation is a spiteful response to the Orange One AFTER he left office ?!?!)

For those who DIDN'T make the threshold, Trump will be directing his new SECDEF Ronny "Johnson" Jackson, MD, to provide Russia with targeting intel for them next Jan........
Nearly every time President Joe Biden appears in public these days, he fuels the chatter: Will aging Joe bow out of the 2024 race? Will he be forced to step aside?
