Hilarious. Trumps DOJ already argued that the section 122 tariffs are inapplicable to our current situation in front of SCOTUS. Now they are going to have to go back and say they changed their minds.

Some legal analyst are saying that Trump already used up the 150 days on countries he already imposed his tariffs on. A new tariff clock doesn't start. Trump will have to find another way to get several 100 billion to pay for his interment camps and ICE brown shirts.

I am NOT a lawyer, but it seems to me that the administration will either need to refund illegally collected duties OR argue that they checked the wrong box and they were really collecting Section 122 tariffs this whole time and are now unable to collect further tariffs. This second argument seems very flimsy, as the administration argued in one of their briefs that IEEPA and Section 122 were completely distinct, and tariffs under one could not be substituted for the other (and trump already announced 15% tariffs under Section 122 after The Supreme Court said "no" to IEEPA tariffs.)
