Correct. We have never had such a proud lying POS criminal like Trump in the WH. Any attempt to establish some kind of equivalence between trump and Biden or any former president is pure insanity and cult thinking.
So deviating from MSM’s perception of trump is cultish? lol peek-a-boo
When you say “voters don’t think for themselves,” what I hear is “there’s no rational explanation for people to not agree with my views.” Do you not think there are smart Republicans? There are incredibly smart people on both sides. There’s always going to be brainwashing, but no one sees the brainwashing done that’s done to them. The brainwashing done to you is perceived by you as knowing the truth and being right. You complain about some right wingers media feed and don’t recognize that you have curated your own bias affirming media feed.
But the meat of his post appeared to have little or nothing to with HIS views. Presuming, hopefully, that he was fairly accurately viewing the relative economic success of those 2 individuals. He saw 2 people apparently doing very well economically, who were nonetheless convinced that the economy was hosed. One can question exactly what those anecdotes mean, and how representative they are, but I don't see how they're tainted by "his view." Nor how his telling of these stories would have been directly caused by any brainwashing OF HIM.
And about media, seriously? The equivalency stuff coming from people who ought to know much better is exhausting. Let's imagine that he has mainstream, left-leaning sources. And "the others" have current right wing media feeds. HE WINS. No question. More lies, less lies. More bias, less bias. More Trumpism, less Trumpism.
Do you think that left leaning sources would never lie to you or spin a situation? Because of something like journalistic integrity? There is spin on everything. Both sides would tell you literally anything that would get you to vote for them. It's propaganda all the way down. You have viewed both sides and decided that the liberal version is probably closer to the truth, and I would mostly agree with that, but it's still not the unequivocal truth.
Yes exactly, and you'd be talking about how bad inflation is and why it's Trump's fault.
Any Democrats who know what they are talking about would not. Inflation is not that bad right now. It's JUST a tad higher than historic norms, and WAY down from where it was. The fact is that the economy remains robust. Still jobs everywhere. Still better than "full employment" rate of 5% unemployment. Wages have eclipsed inflation. No recession in sight. New record high close for the S&P 500 today which allows those in the market (especially retired ones) to open their wallets.
Trump is going to lose. He's going to get sh!tcanned. Headwinds are too strong against him...34 felony convictions, the abortion issue that he so clearly takes credit for (the minority side), the 13 Keys are heavily against him. Americans on the whole want to continue our Democratic Republic. Americans don't want a dictator. We want the rule of law to be enforced. We want smart people, not Marjorie Taylor Greene.
I maintain my position that official inflation numbers are not good measures of true cost of living. It's a good thing that it's cooling off, and I think/hope we're heading in the right direction, but the cumulative effect of the last few years took a toll on a lot of people and many of you remain ignorant to that fact. The bottom 50% of the country owns 1% of the stock market. Good for you is not necessarily good for everybody. I really believe that should be more obvious.

Are you saying that Trump has a ZERO percent chance to win? Please clarify for the record.

You are trying. So I give you credit for that.
If you want to be better you may want to consider putting away the straw man arguments.
Nnonequals never said anything to the effect of "left leaning sources would never lie to you or spin a situation." Ditto with the notion that "it's still not the unequivocal truth."

What has been said multiple times, in multiple ways by multiple posters is that "the left" and/or Democrats can be annoying, dumb, wrong and biased. But even with that, they are not even remotely on the same scale as the party of Trump.
Ever since Trump arrived as the savior of the Republican Party, the GOP, Fox and aligned media have abandoned the notion of truth entirely and have consistently acted in a way that does not align with democratic principles or the foundations of our nation. Collectively they represent an existential threat to America and are the greatest threat to human freedom and progress in the world.
These are not roughly equivalent problems with the Democrats vs the Republicans.

I never made the argument that they were equivalent. I started initially by trying to point out that liberals, specifically the person I initially replied to, are not immune to propaganda and that everyone tends to believe what they want to believe and then treat it as fact. Whatever lies are worse is not really relevant to what I was trying to say. I don’t think I’ve done a great job explaining myself here at all. I deleted like 5 responses to nonequals before responding.

Well, like I said, I can see that you are trying. And I do give you credit for that.
I appreciate your posts. You are one of the best posters on this thread.
three things Republicans hate with a white-hot passion
1) The economy doing well when a Dem is president. Oh do that hate that!
2) Green. Anything green (energy wise, I mean). They just hate the stuff. Any success moving away from burning carbon just gets them hot and bothered.
3) Saving American lives during COVID. They are very unhappy that any protective measures might have saved American lives.
On the last, here's a study showing 800,000 American lives may have been saved by lockdowns and vaccines. Such a bother for m'aga! Sorry! More Americans may die next time so stay optimistic!
BOULDER, Colo. — A March 2024 study from the University of Colorado Boulder and the University of California, Los Angeles found that protective measures taken during the COVID-19 pandemic saved about 800,000 lives. Stephen Kissler, an assistant professor of computer science at CU Boulder, was a co-author for the study. "The main findings from our paper was that social distancing had a huge beneficial impact on reducing the total mortality during the COVID pandemic," said Kissler. "Our argument was that it was the combination of social distancing and vaccination together, that we really needed both of those components to have this... big reduction in mortality." The research indicates that 68% of Americans got vaccinated before being infected. Nearly 2 million people would have died without vaccines or protective measures, according to the study.

1-Additional part time jobs and inflation out of control is not the economy doing well. Increasing real wages to pay for your electric cars would be but thats not happening now is it?
2-green is fine, being forced into it is commie, choice is King
3-Covid was a fraud. any runner who stuck themselves with the vaccine, will now stress about its long term consequences. those who tried to force it on others will deal with karma.

Somewhere a staffer at allsides.com has an unironic tear streaming down his cheek, just like Iron Eyes Cody...who, for the record, was Sicilian, not native American:

The odds that former President Donald Trump will win back the White House have increased to a record high of 58%, according to political oddsmaker SportsHandle.
It’s becoming a slaughter. less and less people want a guy who shlts his pants on the World stage to have anything to do with representing America, and the other guy brings peace and life.
Maybe Joe Biden can’t go home again. Former President Donald Trump is narrowly leading President Biden in Pennsylvania — a battleground state that helped decide the 2020 election and th…

This has absolutely nothing to do with politics or liberal versus conservative. I've leaned conservative my whole life. Until Trump, I most commonly rooted for the R to win a given election. For decades. Generally speaking, liberal positions that I disagreed with have frustrated me significantly more than conservative views that I disagreed with.
But R behavior and R follower behavior and the behavior of media entities like Fox News since Trump have been absolutely horrendous, marked probably most notably by a complete disregard for honesty.
That's what this is about. You're finding equivalency where there is none. Degree. Relativity. That matters. A lot.
Don't let your carefulness and commendable desire for fairness make you come to unsupportable - dare I say, "dumb" - conclusions about the current political situation in America.

It was and is sad, but America's response to #3 made me realize that they'd NEVER, EVER properly respond to #2. And the odds were long to begin with. With COVID, they went down to essentially zero, in my mind.
If you'll play anti-science about wearing a mask or getting a vaccine or otherwise being careful when there's virus out their killing hundreds of thousands in your own country, will you EVER trust that the mamby-pamby scientists and liberals are right about climate change, or other environmental threats? AND be willing to do anything about it? No, unfortunately.
