Agip, just go to the store and look at the prices, they are ridiculous. Try to get a good paying job or realize that if you get two crappy jobs, you still don't have insurance. The economy stats are not telling the story of all the people who have given up trying to get a job. I do not want the economy to be bad, but I certainly felt more secure during Trump's presidency.

You assume that everyone is as lazy and unmotivated as you are.
Ohio used to be a powerhouse. Until it started to elect Republicans.
boys and girls, don’t do this to your state. Look at Mississippi and Alabama and do the opposite.
“Ohio's economy ranks as one of the worst state economies in the United States. Ohio ranks No. 42 in the country, making it the 10th worst state economy in the country, according to a WalletHub study.”

Where does democratic Hawaii rank?
next to last! Beating ruby red Mississippi, thank goodness.
The only Dem state among the 6 worst. Bad show, Hawaii.
7 of the worst 10 state economies are red states of course. But you on going voting for the same people impoverishing you. It will be different this time! Certainly!

Lots of logical reasons Hawaiis economy would lag. Like the fact that they are tiny Islands located 2,000 miles away from mainland.
But don’t expect that logistical fact creep into a right wing gotcha attempt.
This is as simple as I can make it:
Premise 1: Ohio has a poor economy
Premise 2: Ohio is a red state
conclusion: all red states have poor economy.
is your conclusion true? No, look at Texas.
my original point was that the logic being used here is flawed.
Recapitulation: just because something is logically valid does not make it true.
If geography and political orientation were the only determining factors in the health of an economy the world might just be simple enough for you to understand

totally disingenuous to ignore the fact that top-10 poorest state lists are dominated by red states.
And of course top-10 richest state lists are dominated by blue states.
And the corollary is that blue states constantly subsidize red states because of that disparity. Constantly. And we dont' get a thank you. We get scorn, minority rule and coup attempts.

Yes, you read that right - 50 of the top 50.
Not trying to call you out individually at all but it seems pretty sad to me that “you’re fat” is part of any political discourse. It’s very ugly. You could call Trump the cause. I’d say he’s more of an effect. Either way its a little sad how ugly it’s gotten.
Yes, they killed legislation that the Administration was trying to advance at the behest of Trump. And they did it so he could use it more effectively as a campaign talking-point.
Yet another example of Trump putting what serves him over what is best for our country and people.
For the millionth time, Sleepy Joe opened the border via a stroke of the pen/Executive Order(s) in 2021. He did all that w/o ANY Congressional oversight or approval.
There is nothing to stop Sleepy Joe from reversing his EO(s) to restore the prior administration's border policy in full.
Take the "L" here, dumbazz.
#FJB
Nah. Lance is right. Bipartisan agreement on strengthening the border and Trump told his minions not to pass it so that he could keep it as a talking point against Biden. Trump doesn't care about the border, and neither do all those GOP lawmakers who took their orders from Trump. SO, Biden did it with an executive order. You got the L, brother...in more ways than one, but on the border, you got the L.
Not sure why you spend so much time here on this subject. Trump is going to lose. He WILL actually be behind bars when all of his trials (and maybe before) are done. MAAGA is going to be a dark period of our nation's history that will be in the rear view mirror.
Independents are turning their backs on him. Many who voted for him twice will not do so again due to his felony convictions. The abortion issue alone has lost this election for Trump. The more delusional your claims of Biden's dementia are, the funnier it will be when he wins again. YOU have set up the situation that YOUR GUY will lose to a "dementia patient." That's a glowing endorsement for Trump, eh?
Dude, you backed a loser. Time for you to cut bait.

This is interesting. Let's talk about it!
1) If you look at where Ohio's economy currently ranks among the states, it is 42nd. I will admit that that is VERY surprising to me. The local news (and in this red state, ALL of the local news stations lean right) NEVER talks about a poor economy here in the state.
2) I would have guessed that Ohio was in the top half, which is why I find this interesting.
3) I do not know a single person who is out of work in Ohio who wants to have a job, and in fact one organization was so desperate for employees that it offered my 84-year-old father a job. He wasn't looking and declined.
4) The unemployment rate in Ohio is currently 3.90%. That is actually BETTER than the also stellar US unemployment rate of 4.0%, and both rates are better than the "full employment" rate of 5%.
5) I don't know what criteria was used in determining Ohio's "bad economy," but if Ohio is really in 42nd place, then this country is doing even better than I thought it was. I could go get a good-paying job tomorrow if I wanted one. Turns out, I'd rather go fishing which is what I did for half the day today.

I actually agree with you. But there is a bit of history here.
A certain poster on this thread, (without mentioning names, his main contribution to this thread is showing childish cartoons), posted a while back that Americans were getting so obese because of, in his words, the "woke mind virus". Woke people apparently blame everyone but themselves for their problems, take no responsibility for their own health, have no self-discipline, etc.
When it was pointed out to this Trumpette that literally (I think I am using the word correctly here) 50 out of the 50 most obese counties in America voted for Trump in 2020, said poster did not seem interested in this fact and simply disappeared - went dead silent in the discussion.
So, I enjoy reminding this cartoon loving Trumpette of this fact every now and then - with the perhaps vain hope that it will dawn on him what the following two facts imply about his own perception of the world.
1) Said poster thinks Americans are obese because of "wokeness".
2) There is an incredibly strong correlation between obesity and Trump voters.
Not to mention that 50 of the top 50 most obese counties are Trump counties.

Also worth noting - to a very large degree, people become obese due to being depressed. Trump voters, by and large, are depressed, scared and angry at the world ("I am your retribution!").
It is not a coincidence that obesity and Trumpism are strongly correlated.

Yeah that’s why I would say Trump is kind of a symptom of America right now. Much has been said about whether things are going well or not in the country, but there’s a large population of people who think it’s very very bad, and Trump lets them pin it all on a common enemy. From what I understand, this is something common in fascism. People can’t accept that complex problems might have complex solutions, or no solution. Easy answers only. I agree that it’s kind of like lashing out. Elect a guy that makes a mockery of the thing you hate.
But of course that’s only part of his support. I think there’s a lot of opportunistic types who see a real chance at electing someone who will shape the world in a way they either benefits them or fits their ideology. That’s basic politics of course but I think that’s why you see “I’m not a Trump guy, but…” a lot.
Trump is telling us what he plans on doing in the future.
George S is correct.
@GStephanopoulos : January 6 was not just about how close we came to watching our institutions crumble that day. The ongoing threat is real. Look at what happened just Saturday night. Trump called the convicted felons who tried to block the peaceful transfer of power on January 6 'warriors.' He has called them 'hostages' and 'patriots.' He has promised to pardon them. He is not promising to abide by the results of the next election. This threat is very real right now
A good portion of Trump's own cabinet members. Lifelong Republicans. One is a former director of the Heritage Foundation! And even his own damn VP have stated publicly that Trump is unfit to serve as President. These are not political operatives. These are people that witnessed Trump's actions in real time. They know him. They say he is a threat to democracy and will not uphold the constitution. They aren't saying they simply prefer another candidate. They are saying Trump is unfit. This has never happened before in our countries history.
The only ones in power supporting Trump have criminal liability for their own actions regarding Jan 6th or are jockeying for a position in Trump 2.0. And a handful that feel that they need to cover their own Azzes either way just in case he wins so they aren't a target of the promised "retribution".
