The Iranian government is horrible as people across the political spectrum and lots of Iranians would agree, but the world is full of horrible oppressive governments, some of the them supposed US allies. Being a horrible government is not enough unless you think the US is the world's policeman and the US taxpayers should be paying to go around starting wars to "liberate" everyone.
The question is why it's in the US national interest to go to war with Iran. The last gulf war it was the supposed threat of Iraq's supposed WMDs. I thought Trump opposed that kind of war. This time there isn't even a consistent story but just the same old Neocon policy of going to war just because you can.
Disney has poured millions into Israel, censored pro-Palestine voices, and platformed Israeli military propaganda through its films. From Marvel’s “Sabra” to CEO Bob Iger’s $2 million donation to Israeli organizations during...

WMD was a smoke screen.
That conflict and this conflict are both proxy wars for israel.

The difference is this time it was done with zero approval from Congress and there will be zero repercussion. I think everyone can appreciate how reckless that is especially when we already know how bat sh!t crazy and evil Trump is. What happens if this doesn't cure his small hands syndrome? How much more suffering can he bring upon this world?

If the world is bifurcating between the U.S. and China, then a change in government in Iran is huge win for the U.S. It is well located to influence both Central Asia and middle East, which are important for both minerals and oil. It's also a key component of China's New Silk Road Initiative.
With that said, I don't think we should be engaging with Iran in war. Not that we can't or won't win, but rather due to the difference in cost between their missiles and our interceptors. Which means this war will be very costly. Once we run out of interceptors (which should happen at about this weekend), our gulf allies will take most of the damage which will strain those alliances.
That is, I think, this is more likely to be a pyrrhic victory than a resounding strategic victory.

yeah there are no real wins in wars anymore. unless there is a giant mismatch and the bigger power is willing to turn its much smaller opponent to powder like israel did to gaza.
Won't work here because iran is vast and can turn this into a drone standoff like in RU vs UKR.
on the cost issue: Israel imay have claimed a win there: Using lasers to shoot down missiles. That would make missile interception basically free and change the balance. Everyone is workign on that tech but it's not good enough yet. Some think israel is using it in this war.
that would be a good reason to call israel an ally, if it shares its learnings with us on that.
Nothing shows just how much the US is a complete puppet of Israel than this war.
The gulf states should now know that Trump doesnt give a flying fk about what happens to them given their close proximity to Iran and the fact that they all have US bases and would be legitimate targets.
Saudi wanted this war just as much as Israel. Turn off Tucker Carslon and Nick Fuentes and try to learn a thing or two
US does not care what Saudis want. US answers to Israel.
