I notice you used the past tense "was" and that you are talking about the problems of 1958. It may not be intentional, but you are answering questions that I'm not asking instead of the one that I am asking.
I'd like to hear from you as to whether a middle-aged person today who was raised by someone who was told by the government that they were not allowed to enjoy the benefits available to others because they are black and who had their opportunities intentionally and systematically limited, has been afforded the same opportunities that their white peers enjoy today.
Seems like this one could be answered with a simple "yes" or "no."
