What's striking about most of the GOP's reaction to the indictment is that there is no disputing of the indictment. In fact, it seems as if the only person who has publicly stated that Trump has the right to the presumption of innocence is Jack Smith.
The general reaction has been a deflection/whataboutism "but Hilary", "but Biden".
That's why we know Trump is toast and his only hope is delaying as long as he can and hoping he wins the election and can have everything thrown out. He's not gaining any more voters with either the indictments themselves or his or the GOP's reaction to the indictments although his base may be more motivated at this point. He's likely lost the independent and even some GOP support.
