Would be interested to see the salary - most CA assistant jobs, even at D1, expect you to survive on like $40k
Also, somebody correct me if I'm wrong but the cal state school system has a state minimum for staff. I think it's around 55k.
Yea full-time salaried jobs in ca have to pay around 55-60k (forget the exact number but I got a little raise so my school was in compliance with the state)… however it could be less if a school labels the jobs as 10 or 11 month.

That's usually what they do. Cal State SAN Marcos, Whittier, along with a few others, had postings along those lines in the last year or two. Pay was in the low to mid 40's.
Definitely not a truth. There are jobs listed at less than 12 months, but the minimum is not anywhere near 55k. You can simply google salaries for all Cali state coaches, they are public record, no need to guess or make up provocative things.
