Every unvaccinated person I know who has caught Covid has either laid in bed for days hacking their lungs out or took a trip to the ER. Just push through my brahs. I took two doses, caught Covid and continued to work from home because I never got that sick and didn’t need anything other than water and dayquil. So I guess this is a big win for the anti Covid crowd!?

That article and the NEJM article don’t refer to omicron. They refer to delta as compared to alpha.

Fully Vaxxed and Boosted and when I'm up for the next one, I'll get it because I see value in it.

That said, the vaccination has not worked nearly as well as anticipated (obviously the variants have played a huge role in that). Are they working on a new vaccine that will be more effective with current variants?

Currently, it's obvious to me that the vaccine has helped to teach your body how to fight off Covid. It seems that the vaccine has NOT prevented anyone from catching Covid or spreading Covid.

If you ARE or ARE NOT vaccinated basically has no affect on me (other than possibly over running hospitals). So, why are we still mandating vaccines to attend events???

Finally, when is the CDC going to change their mask recommendations to only those who are sick? At some point, asking healthy people to wear a mask is going to seem ridiculous.

Did you look at the charts in the actual study? Previous infection outperformed vaccination in both infections and hospitalizations during the delta surge.

Yeah, but why would you want to get Covid, initially, and not have the protection (reduced symptoms) provided by the vaccine?

I don’t particularly trust statistics on infections as the data on that topic are the least trustworthy, but in the UK from December 18 through December 31, triple vaccination appeared to prevent infections at the same rate as pre-delta infection, delta infections appeared to provide greater protection. Again, I wouldn’t put too much stock in that data, but it is out there
