I'm a follower of the RULE OF LAW. Yes. A photo ID would need to be checked.

I take it that you are not a follower of the rule of law and just think it is okay to break any law you think is silly or you do not agree with.

Please explain to me how you can do anything without a photo ID. I am not talking about being Joe Dirt and living in a trailer park all day long. I am talking about having a job, commuting to work, earning a paycheck, having taxes taken out of your paycheck, voting, having a bank account, and doing everything else required to be a part of society.

Many of the things that typically require a photo ID are things that are not necessary. There are people who live their whole lives, often due to poverty, who never drive a car legally if at all or take a plane ride or rent a car or whatever. They live in the same run-down house their great grandmother owned, and on and on. Truth.

On the rare weird occasion that I would be carded for alcohol, if I didn't have my ID on me, I'd just go to the next store and get it there.

Sure, you can do trivial stuff like that. How can you function in society? Without living at your parent's trailer home, how can you rent or own a house, how can you have a bank account, how can you buy a car, how can you get credit, how can you vote, how can you go to a nice restaurant and charge your dinner, how can you buy a plane ticket, how can you go overseas, how can you buy alcohol if youngish, how can you do so many things necessary in life? Again, you can stay at your parent's trailer home all the time and not need anything. But if you venture out, you will need ID for things. How can you even go to college without an ID? Seriously, you really can't function in life without an ID unless you are stay-at-home 24/7 and living in a trailer park of your parents. If you rent or you own a house, you need an ID. So, the only ones who DO NOT NEED AN ID either do not own a house, do not rent, and basically live at their parent's trailer park home.

I didn't say it was a silly law. I agree that you should have to provide a photo ID to buy alcohol; this of course is to prevent underage people from buying alcohol. I have no problem providing it if it is ever asked of me. As handsome and youthful as I do look though, it is clear I am not under age 21, and so it is ridiculous if I am ever carded...which is why the vast majority of the time I am not.

So, the point of all this is that a person who is clearly over the age of 21 can and will buy alcohol without a photo ID, regardless of whether it is a law or not.
