I don't think Bill Maher has a real political belief. At one point he described himself as Libertarian. He's just a clown obsessed with being the smartest person in the room. Fine by me. I use what is most commonly accepted and accurate. Not all black people in America are African Americans. Many of them aren't American at all, and then some of them don't have ancestral origins in Africa. SOOOOO, as a blanket term, I use "black people." If an individual doesn't like that and tells me, I will gladly refer to them as they wish.
