the deficit is a problem, no doubt. But this kind of talk is not great because it doesn't mention that GDP is roaring ahead. It's ok to have a higher deficit if GDP is growing quickly. As it is. 5-6% this quarter, apparently. Which is amazing.
I don't mean to sugar coat the deficit - the government is not being responsible, it should be cutting spending in good times like these and raising taxes - but a full picture is necessary here.
