SP500 is up ~ 14% YTD. But only ~ 2% on the past year.

This thread gets much quieter when markets are declining... :-)

Igy bashing gets lighter. Wife and I have our 49th anniversary, so better things to do. :-)

August and September are notorious for being down months. On the other hand, Oct., November and December usually rock. Just wait 5 or 6 weeks.

Thanks Sally. After the 1972 Olympic Trials Marathon I thought I was a big stud at 21. Even though I weighed 140 lbs dripping wet. She was only 17 at the time, I asked her out and she said “I don’t even know you.” Married two years later.

How so? June closed at 4450, today ended at 4370, so any gains after the end of June have been erased, by my way of seeing things anyway.

The DOW opened July at 34,418 and closed today at 34,475.

Ah, OK, fair enough. Sometimes I forget the title of this thread. Personally, I almost never look at DJIA, preferring SP500 as being more representative of the broad US market, but I take your point.
