Completely untrue. You have no idea what damage has been done to his reputation at this point. It might be slight, but I guarantee there will be more people believing he "might be dirty" than did before this thread. And you never know how that might effect him. It's not all about what meet he runs in or not. Rumors hurt people in various ways that cannot be immediately measured or in the most obvious ways. Reputations matter.

(for example: Lagat was exonerated, but his image was still hurt. Even if he had no missed meets due to the controversy, I bet you he would say it still hurt him. This is a situation certainly not to that degree, but it is similar situation to a smaller degree).

But there is something else here if you do a little research. I'm not giving any free links to Flotrack, but on Feb 3, they wrote an item with an editors note that Salazar said Centrowitz would not be racing indoors because he had a viral infection that required medication. As far as I know, the only viral infections for which medication works are things like herpes and HIV.

Now, Google "Zovirax athletic performance". Zovirax is a medication for herpes (also chicken pox and shingles), which is apparently a PED, and presumably one can get a TUE for this with properly fabricated medical records. This kind of shady thing would seem to have Salazar's name written all over it.

On the other hand, if he actually got HIV, I would suspect that his time of being a medal contender is over.

Lagat's situation is nothing like Centro's. In one, an athlete's A sample came back positive and the B negative. In the other, a messageboard poster made something up. See the difference? People are only pretending to be outraged because it's the internet. No harm has been done to Centro's image or career.
