I quickly checked in the tiktok feed not too long ago and Nedd was running slowly with another dude.
I scribbled down the numbers on the live feed to check how he was travelling.
The clock on the top right was approaching 198 hours. It was no more than 5 minutes before the hour ticking over, so I rounded up. The distance on the screen showed 1104km. I wrote the numbers down, they're on an envelope beside me.
If we were both looking at the feed within a few minutes of each other, then it appears they've added two master lap totals to the score at the same time.
This question needs answering...
At least twice they've forgotten to denote the completion of the Master Lap. Breath-taking sloppiness. But all ties in with the fact that they never really believed in the competitive side of this, and the thrill of top level, international, potential record-breaking sport.
And whenever he rests for 6 hours+ at a time, they point blank refuse to denote the tally. What the?! The one thing the thousands and thousands who pop into the feed and want to know is how he's getting along, and they're greeted with a message that says: "Nedd's resting."
I think it's on purpose. If they showed the tally, everyone would howl, "it's a bust." But no tally, and everyone asks, "how's he doing? Can he break the record?" And the reply is always, "yeah still a chance. Not over yet..."
A hoodwinking masquerade through and through. They know that if they lose the public's interest it all starts to collapse. The studio talking heads all but never mention the sporting angle. Only that he's awesome and you must donate to Mobilise.
I’ve never seen a more childish group of adults in my life. Quite typical of modern day Australia where some feel threatened so they must bring them down. To think this is your life, I feel so sorry for you that you have to judge decent people and find ways to bring them down. Instead of seeing the bigger picture of how many people this will help, you just want to big note yourself for your personal gain. No different to what you are saying Nedd is apparently doing. And to think someone in here is comparing Nedd to Belle Gibson.. are you ok? Do you maybe need some support? Hopefully none of you have kids, you would be horrible role models for your children. Grow up and stop being little cowards sitting behind a computer screen like little jealous running nerds.
These influencers need to be watched like a hawk. They're trying to grab all the equity, value and glory from the sport for themselves, and leave the proper, honest, hard-working, real runners to fight over scraps.
Their modus operandi is two-fold, and often both: to spout utter b/s in the run up to their challenges, and then to cheat during them.
But this page, and the one on Goodg's Transcon shows how the community aren't taking it lying down, despite the horrendous and graphic abuse the likes of me take from Sneakers and his foot soldiers.
And their only defence? We don't know how to read data.
Well they do have one other defence. The "how dare anyone criticise someone doing something for charity" defence.
Aye, be a charity fundraiser and it's a shield for no end of skulduggery. One of the biggest charitable fundraisers in UK history was also one of its biggest criminals.
No comparison with these cases of course, but to use charity to defend sharp practice, fraud, cheating or to ruthlessly line one's own pockets is a low blow. If the likes of NB, WG, RB and PJ didn't all give up their careers and become pro runners [with little noted ability], this would all sit better.

When I read your first sentence I presumed you were talking about Brockmann's minions on Tiktok.
Have you actually witnessed the discussion on Tiktok? Because if you think the objective analysis offered by Brockmann's critics is childish, then God knows how immature you'll find the minions on Tiktok! 😁

They're still asking if the record is possible: "480 in 48...?" hmmm. I have pointed out the record is 473, and he's now lost an hour, and is still asleep, and may be fatigued.
In the words of the black knight in the holy grail, "call it a draw."
What are some of the typical run / walk / sleep breakdowns of normal multi day ultras? Or do they vary a lot person to person?
I could imagine decent intervals of walking with some pace wouldn't be a bad strategy over the course of the day to eat / hydrate etc.
Something like this?
12 hours at 6 min pace ~120km
6 hours walking at 10 min pace ~36km
6 hours rest
Correct. A massive flaw for NB has been that he doesn't understand/realize that walking is fine and encouraged in these things, but it must be frisky. He has walked just 5% of the time, and alas, it's not a walk but a waddle - 20 minute miling.
Him and his handlers thought he pretty much had to run the whole thing, and that meant he absolutely battered himself. And he was also stone cold glued to 9-11 minute miling. The running was too quick and violent, the walking waaaaayyy too slow and not enough of it, and the rests/stops/breaks became innumerable. This current break is outlandish.
It all meant an incredibly uneven affair, with some startlingly impressive action, but the end result is that's he's around 200 miles down on promise half-way through day 9, with a river of manure to negotiate in his immediate future.

Ever considered that everyone in here has competed, coached, administered, and that's why we respect doing things correctly?
Imagine assembling a big team to attempt a 'record', and not having one single knowledgeable member of the team, now that's childish.
If he rests 6hrs, he needs 5min45sec kms for the next 479kms
If he rests 6 hours, and maintains current pace he'll be just over 12 days.
Where did you get those numbers from?

OK, I checked the Barefoot Sports Timing site this morning and the master "lap" times are evenly enough spaced.
As has been noted by others, it's a crazy system when the actual laps of the track and their times do not appear to be individually counted or their times recorded.
It's appears totally open to human error, especially when runner and crew members are exhausted. I don't know what contingency plans are in place to ensure each master is made up of 30 laps of the track and how it can be reliably checked in real time, or how individual lap times can be audited later to pick up miscounts.
Ultimately, it is unlikely to matter that much. It's not going to officially ranked result, much in the same way runners like Standeven or Mansell who finished the Westfield on courses longer than 1000km in under 144 hours aren't included near the top of 6 Day listings.
Yep, and remarkable that they're both competing together in high profile events. Gives us so much data as to exactly how this all goes down. They may skin the cat different ways but both have made sensational progress in the sport given their ability.
Yet again they haven't updated the master lap. For presentation and care over data, I can't recall a worse system. Total sloppiness and confusion all round, and definitely his performance and lap times secondary to the human aspect and drama.
It's a one person race, with an update every 1hr40, and yet they simply can't be arsed to update.
And his Strava is unintelligible and totally pointless, denoting little, if anything of worth.
