Nick Bester will never break 2:20. His ego is way too big. He just signed up to run New York marathon and wants to pace 2:45. Dude just ran a 60km ultra too AND London marathon in the ‘recovery’ from Manchester.

Clearly putting the word Marathon on YouTube titles is much more important than breaking 2:20 for him. His training is garbage and constantly broken up by events like this, like he’s constantly desperate for attention. He’s going to give himself 10 weeks to build ‘speed’ in prep to run Berlin in 2:19. 10 weeks is nothing and he will not get into 14:2x shape or close to 30 flat in order to run 2:19.

Going to watch him run 2:22 at Berlin and watch him say that it wasn’t meant to be today. Quote this after Berlin. He should stop talking about sub 2:20 after this, as he clearly doesn’t even want it.

I still haven't watched Kofuzi's video, but the BITR Boston Video shows the shoetuber circle jerk in all its glory. Kofuzi makes an appearance. (Keira D'Amato makes an uncredited cameo.)

Your last phrase is interesting in looking at his recent races since Manch. My take is that his immense desire for money and attention have now taken over the running goal bit and perhaps he's realised that the money and attention will not be affected any way by which side of 2.20 PB he is on. My guess is that the sort of person who pays him doesn,t care about a minute here or there in their coach - they still think he's a wonderful runner. He's a good runner. Does he have any 'friends' in real life - he comes across as rather unappealing.

Kofuzi has a couple options for getting that Berlin bib. He can't be stopped now.

Claims she didn't like the set up of NB Manchester so she left (amongst other reasons), which is the same reason as she gave for leaving America. I'm seeing a pattern here...

Real translation: my boyfriend and I make more money off of making YouTube videos and producing YouTube Videos/editing them for Kofuzi than I did as a runner. May also be that New Balance wanted to restrict her other ads, or that she had opportunities that paid well that she couldn't do bc of the New Balance contract. She's definitely still a professional athlete though. She makes money off her running, which is the focus of her videos. Really the more I think about it, this is basically the running version of some basketball or football player with a NIL deal that pays a ton but won't make it in the NBA/NFL.

Also NB put a lot of pressure in her to do certain races that she didn’t want to do (podium 5k for example)

She had the biggest cheers of any athlete at last night's 10,000s, where she ran well. It seems rather ugly to me, .maybe I was naive to think that the sort of people who like watching 10,000s are the same sort of people who don't like self serving narcissism. though as she is a talented committed runner I wish her success with her results.
