what exactly is an annualized return? I would bet my last dollar that had you done like many of us and simply parked a wad there from the get-go and ride it up, you would have made vastly more.
EDIT: I know what an annualized return is, but maybe some others don't. Annualized returns are not what shows up in your fund balance, it is a theoretical that projects out for a longer period than one actually holds it. Our gains are actual appreciation, not hypothetical. And there's a world of difference.

Hussman's innocence is kind of sweet. Has nobody told him that his beloved Strategic Growth fund has provided a total return of $2,000 over almost 25 years with a $10,000 investment. Meanwhile, the S & P has provided a total return of $30,000 over the same time period? The little guy just doesn't realize how crappy his fund has been since its inception. No one has told him?
