Not going to agree with you on trump, but I do agree that this crop of dems, diblasio excepted, are the same kind of politician that got trump elected. They hem and haw and don't answer questions.

That said, many of the questions are completely stupid. the 'what will you do on day 1' questions are esp. moronic.

and the wedge issues - guns, abortion. Come on. These are not real questions.

but the dems need to be sharper and answer clearer.

The long game politically for the Dems is to court more minority voters. The long game for the GOP seems to subvert their ability to vote or have a voice via gerrymandering.

The only problem is that your neighbor's system was very expensive. If he's really paying $0 for electricity then he has a large bank of expensive batteries to store energy when the sun doesn't shine. His break even point is probably around 15 years.

The price of those batteries continues to fall along with the price of solar panels. VC money is pouring into energy storage startups and research. We will eventually get to the point where the break even point is about 5 years. That's when solar becomes as common as air conditioning.

Then we all enjoy life without electric bills and gasoline.

The equipment is a one-time cost. As they become more and more commoditized, they get cheaper and cheaper. The price of these "expensive" photovoltaic cells has come down from $76/watt in 1977 to $0.30/watt in 2015. And the price continues to go lower.

The sun and wind are the inputs. They are free.

With fossil fuels, the cost to extract and process those fuels is never free. And this is a cost that tends to go up instead of down as the "easy to extract" sources are depleted.

Solar and wind are free and the cost to consume goes down.

Fossil fuel is never free and the cost to consume goes up.

Challenge of the day: find us any footage from the last election cycle where Trump answered a debate question with a coherent and concrete answer. What you meant to say is he responded to questions, but provided no substantive answer. Good luck on your search.

There’s a good reason most Dem candidates are polling much higher than Trump... perhaps the baggage and outright damage trump has brought to the game in just a few years dwarfs that of any other before him.

Supreme Court basically just OK'd gerrymandering. This is why Republicans will continue to hold their noses and vote for Trump in 2020. It's not a vote for Trump, it's a vote for R.

I agree with the Court - there is no way for judges to decide what is excessive and what isn't.

it's yet another example of how the nation is held hostage by the amorality of the R party. They are willing to terrible things to grab and hold power - things the Dems generally aren't willing to do. We now depend on the Rs to be reasonable and not gerrymander states unfairly.

We also depend on Republicans not to elect rapist racists to the presidency.

We also depend on Republicans not to put presidents above the law.

We also depend on Republicans not to make it hard to vote.

We also depend on Republicans not to run away and hide to prevent fair votes being taken.

Trump and McConnell have set the path forward for all blue 2020 president, Senate and House. The democrat president can declare a national emergency and redo the census. And Congress can pass, by a simple McConnellian majority vote, a nationwide ban on gerrymandering, and funding for a census redo.

Meanwhile, Oregon Republicans are using armed militias to intimidate elected Democrats.

But the big point is that democracies only work when both parties show forbearance. When they are in power they don't abuse their power. Rs show very little interest in forbearance. They lie cheat and steal to keep power. It's no comparison.

No, we have never suggested stopping immigration entirely. It is you Democrats who falsely bring up Repubs about wanting to stop immigration. We have never wanted that. Now please pay attention ... we want to stop ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION. Can you not understand that? I know you do but that doesn't adhere to your policy of allowing all illegals in to the country to boost your chances of improving your lot politically. You have no desire to abide by the Constitution. You don't care for the country. You only care for increasing the power of the Democratic party. Just a shame.

Gerrymandering, while in my opinion is wrong, is part of our political system and has been for generations. I think a better policy would be to organize districts by county, city or neighborhood boundaries.
