Well, sure, yes if you pay someone $10000 per hour they'll be willing to pick strawberries or wash dishes. A little bit of an exaggeration by you wouldn't you say?
What would you say these 'unscrupulous' employers should be paying for these jobs? $30/ hour? $50/hour? $100/hour? $200/ hour? And once you find that 'basic economics' amount that finds that sweet spot of having enough workers will consumers be willing to pay the amount needed for the products in question?
I'll just answer that for you... it's doubtful... so ultimately the businesses you speak of will either need to close or relocate to another country where wages are less.
Hate to tell you not all of these employers are 'unscrupulous' or even as responsible as you seem to think they are. You are way way oversimplifying the situation.
You boys are far off track. If you think that picking is the only part of working the strawberry fields then you have no concept of a job that is so much harder than just picking.
Is that I have no idea why you quoted my post or what you are taking exception with about my post...
i never said that picking was the only thing that happened at work with strawberry fields nor did i imply it... that has nothing to do with my point... it seems like you should be agreeing with the point of my post not taking exception... "you boys"?? what??
