Good one! Cause only slow MD guys get sick of hearing teams get crapped on post-race. Bottom line, there are over 400 schools in d3...32 teams made it. They're all pretty good...some ran better than others this weekend. Who cares. It's over. It takes a real a-hole to keep twisting knives. Show some empathy or, at the very least, an interesting take on the race. Or just shut up and eat a cookie. Lucas Mueller will hook you up.
Also while the team perspective was probably disappointing, the WIAC had 3 of the top 10 and 6 of the top 40 individuals, so I wouldn’t really say they “sucked it up”
Here's a fun fact for ya'll.....
The two Loras girls got 5th and 25th. If Loras' 3-4-5 finish dead last, they still get 28th as a team, beating multiple of those at-large teams the selection committee decided were better......

This was a very weak year in DIII. The West Region is still a piece of garbage, PP won by scoring 164 points. That's the second highest point total to win a national title in DIII History (NCC scored 167 in 2012, another weak year). I was actually shocked to see that the winning team actually scored over a 100 points. Goes to show how dominant NCC was over the last 3 years, and they had much tougher competition.

just because the score was high doesn't mean that it was a weak year. it just means that the talent was spread across all the teams.
Midwest still beat the hell out of the west if you are scoring based on region. Save for Pomona winning the team title, Midwest still was the better region

With all this talk about which region is weak and which is strong, I am wondering what people think of the regional realignment proposal that is being considered right now. Would people generally be in favor of this change? more regions and maybe spreading out some of the teams in the traditionally stronger regions.

Would the change separate Illinois from Wisconsin? Wisconsin from itself? It'll be very hard to spread out the Midwest without making a very wonky map.
I don’t really care if the realignment happens, but all it does is give more auto q’s to some east coast/Atlantic teams. Your complaints about big fields is kinda stupid because most of those teams are trash. Also, if you just started the first 400m of the race like a national level team you wouldn’t have to worry about the other scrubs in the race. See Williams this year at regionals on how to navigate a bad, big field.

I think the purpose is to make the regions more equal in terms of size. New England/mideast region had 50+ teams this year, while Central/midwest/south only had 30ish, and west only had 15 teams.
The Midwest kinda crushed the West. From both a team perspective and individual perspective. 12 AAs from the Midwest
