Confirmed in another thread that Coach Curcio will be taking the job at Queens University in Charlotte. I'd assume he will coach through the SOCON meet. Still this has to have a negative affect on Appy's distance team...Without the distance points, Western will win again!

The 10k actually will be a pretty good race. Looks like Chelimo is entered in the 15 and 5k.
Western qualifies 6 in the 400. Wow.

I'm calling it now...Western wins by 8.
They have a 21-12 advantage going in to tomorrows finals, not including the 1500 and 5000. With 2 distance events already done, the steeple and the 10k, Western will dominate tomorrows track events. Western has 6 guys in the 400 and 4 in the 400h. The only way App will win is if App gets 18 or more points in the 1500 and 800, plus if all of their other guys step up big time tomorrow. They very well may get 15 in both mid-distance events tomorrow,

OR he's never going anywhere- especially a DIII team that sucks, has no facilities, doesn't pay anything, and is wrecked from the Simmons experience

Moen, Soderman and Taylor aren't going anywhere.
Read the NCAA Rulebook. If you transfer down a Division (i.e. D1 to D2) you have to sit out a year. The three above mentioned athletes are in their final year of eligibility. I suppose Taylor could sit out a full year and run a 5th at Queens, but Moen and Soderman are completing their 4th year now and won't be able to continue running in the NCAA if they transferred to Queens.
Curcio is going no where. Moen will run track at App next year, taylor has a full year and Soderman will be at App next year running cross. Anybody catch that Facebook post on Raby? pretty funny shit!

Former Socon champ Lanni Marchant (Chattanooga) ran 2:31 to qualify for the Olympics. Unfortunately Canada has their own set of standards and she might not be able to run.
In one year Chelimo has gone from a no name D3 guy to the very best in the country. We have rarely seen an athlete as special as him, and NEVER have seen one in the SoCon. We are all lucky to be witnessing this phenomenal runner. I wish him nothing but the best.
