It isn't possible to be cornered by stupidity - including yours. A fatuous comment, which was directed at what I had said, gets what it deserves.
How is being the "middle of the pack" the alternative to being the "greatest in history"? Where did I suggest that he should only aspire to the middle of the pack?
Another case of you lashing out. Why is this?
Where did I suggest that being middle of the pack is the (only) alternative to "greatest in history"?
You have a short memory.
"I think its the weirdest thing ever to hold it against an athlete that they have ambitions to be the greatest ever. No one sets world records with ambitions of being in the middle of the pack."
You effectively said that is the alternative to his ambitions. It isn't.
They didn't "lose" in events they didn't compete in. Since he won at Tokyo he's lost every outdoor global championship since. A losing record at that level means he isnt amongst the very best in the event. They dominated in a way he hasn't - and not just at the Olympics. Moreover, they held the world records in the 1500 and/or the mile. He hasn't. He may be in the top 10 for the 1500/mile but that's about it. I put Elliott, Snell, Ryun in 66/67, Walker, Coe, Ovett, Cram, Morceli and above all El G ahead of him.
Top 10 all-time in the 1500m/Mile. OK.
In not his best event. That's some achievement.
In the 3000m/2 Miles he obviously is in the top 5, maybe number 1?
In the 5000m? No super fast time so far, but 3 global titles. Also top 10 all-time?
Combining all 3, what do you think he should be ranked all-time amongst middle and long distance runners? Already top 5?
I'm assessing him as a 1500/miler and was comparing him with those for whom it was their specialty. His achievements in longer distances is a separate conversation.
Selective statistics. That doesn't change anything I said above.
"Selective statistics"!!
Says the guy who all the time compares the weaker points in the career of his most beloved athlete with the strong points of the others.
Just facts which are presented to him. Coe's championship record is much worse than Ingebrigtsen's so far. He constantly ignores this fact - because he doesn't like it. He only brings the facts (mostly wrong) which support his view.
Talking about selective statistics...
Coe isn't my "most beloved athlete". What garbage. Coe is easily one of the top 10 because he is the only athlete to win consecutive 1500 Olympic golds and was a multiple world mile record holder. Ingebrigtsen hasn't got near that. Perhaps no one will.

You show poor reading comprehension again.

You compare Jakob's weaker points with the strong points of other runners. Funny how you still insult my English lol
The greats didn't duck anything. That is why they are recognised as great competitors. Another ****** stupid argument. Ingebrigtsen on the other hand has repeatedly lost when it matters most.
Coe and Ovett ducked each other all the time. Another ******** ignorant argument from someone who claims to have followed athletics for decades. You never fail to fail.
They met each other in championships, which is where it matters. You know - the events where Jakob loses to the next guy.

They often did: Coe and Ovett all the time. Also Morceli. Elliott and Snell quit at young age. Walker stopped running when confronted with a superior runner.
Elliott and Snell had to earn a living. Walker ran till he was nearly 40. So he didn't stop when "confronted with a superior runner". He suffered from shin-splints that limited his training after Montreal. But none of them were the windbag that Ingebrigtsen is - and his fans.
Having achievements in a bunch of different events won't make him the greatest in history but a very good all-round athlete. The best specialists are better because of their level of achievement. In any case, he won't surpass Nurmi for all-round achievements. There are too many athletes today who are too good in their specialist events for them to be beaten in the big races by a good all-rounder, like Nurmi was.
You are confusing things again. All-round GOAT and specialist is not the same. As for not surpassing Nurmi? lol Do you want to compare the level of competition?
To be the greatest 1500/miler or 5k/10k runner or marathon runner are all specialists. Ingebrigtsen will never match the achievements of the best in those events. So that means he can only distinguish himself as an all-rounder - good in a number of events but not the best in any. I am effectively saying no one can achieve in this era what Nurmi did but you couldn't follow that.

If you asking me: Top 1, but everyone has different opinion, some people without logic bat still. You can't forbid them having an opinion.

Yeah, I don't follow incoherent nonsense.
You put in bold plain English. That's quite a reading problem you have. But it is only one of many.

He is talking about Düsseldorf, windbag.
So ****** what. Many runners have dropped out of races. Ovett was one of them. I recall a certain Norwegian stopping to walk for quite a period in the middle of a HM. He certainly met a lot of "superior runners" that day - 38 of them.

You sound upset. Thank you for admitting you didn't know what he was talking about. I am always happy to help you navigate through life.
