It’s a none essential activity. You lot are thinking like children throwing a tantrum because you don’t understand and want your favourite toy. We’re not talking about the end of our civil liberties we are talking about an exceptional time, a state of emergency. It has to be contained at all costs.

You cannot prove that running increases the spread just like it can’t be proved that it does not. The reality is that millions of people would leave their house to ‘run’ most for the first time in their lives. Millions of people opening door knobs to enter and exit buildings. It’s sad that people can’t be trusted to follow protocol like use gloves, wash hands etc but society is by and large pretty dumb (like you). It will most definitely spread further, however small, due to people moving freely and increase activity at a time when, under no circumstance can it be permitted (I’m talking about the state of emergency in Spain). I’m sorry but anyone who starts the sentence with ‘how can a lone runner transmit the virus’ is just plain dumb and doesn’t get the big picture, and is clearly America centric and not paying attention to the rest of the world. No common sense. Like spoit children.

Separate Spain from the US. You are not we we are yet. Spain can’t say yes to dog walking, shopping, working, running and what anyone should deem is their outdoor activity of choice as it their civil liberty to do so. It just won’t work. I know it’s a hard concept but this is the me me me society we have created coupled with the most dangerous virus to hit us in living memory.

Aside from being an idiot, you’re a pretty terrible person and to kick a country while it’s down and it says a lot about you and how upset you are at your own life. I would like to say it’s not your fault but it probably is.

Here in the Czech Republic, I believe we were the first country in the EU to introduce a lock down. The minister in charge has promised that if the number of infections is under 8,500 at the end of this month (next Tuesday/Wednesday), then restrictions will start to be lifted.

We are currently at 2,000 infections with it rising around 200 a day, so we will likely be a good example of how soon curfews might be lifted if infection rates seem under control.

Running is still allowed here btw., although you have to wear a face mask at all times outdoors, including in the countryside.

I am not american but French. Running is not technically banned but is under some stupid restrictions (not further than 1km from home) that it is generally not respected by people.

Running does not spread the virus. I have proved it to you. Your lockdown is not working, your numbers keeps increasing despite your country having less population than Italy and than us.

Have you even wondered why your lockdown is not working? Because the virus is spread by people who are working , who are shoping, who are going to the hospitals, who are in public transport. That's what you don't get.

Targeting runners is such a stupid, useless and pointless move. Your epidemy will only stop when herd immunity will kick in. That's sad, but that's how it will happe, for Italy and for us that's also true. Banning running is absolutely pointless.

What change if I kick Spain when it is down or not? Nothing. Stop being too sensible. I am not a problem for your country. I tell just the truth. The way your country treats runners and send two cops brutally arresting a female jogger who does nothing bad is awful and remind me fascism.

the lockdown won't work completely. It will slow down the curve though. My worry is that western lockdowns apart from happening too late, is that they are too many leaks with people continuing to work. For the record I think it's working are Spain and Italy are peaking, we are at the end of a lag from lockdown and added people who contracted it during lockdown through other family members.

You have 'proved' how running does not spread the virus just as much as I have 'proved' the virus could be spread through running. But that's not the point here. its easy to understand why running has been banned. not ideal but its a small sacrifice in the grand scheme of things. If everyone acted as this women did the country would be in chaos and then we really would be in trouble. So it's not pointless. it's necessary. The Spanish are not a great example of a common sense society and certainly are not community spirited like people think. So going back to the original point. No it's not pointless. She wasn't brutally arrested. She was given several warnings and every opportunity, which she undermined and rejected at every step. She was braking the law in exceptional times when there is no patience for peoples selfishness. she acted hysterically for the same stupid reason she decided to go running in the first place.

I don't defend Spain and it's faults. It has too many. This is just a small thing but it says a lot about society here. Dog crap is a big problem in the streets because people are lazy, have no integrity or consideration. Since the lockdown, away from the eyes of normal public activity, its a free-for-all dog owners to turn the streets into their public crapping ground, which is disgusting at the best of times. Spain is not a civilised country to be left up to its own device. But then again neither is the UK, America or France in these times.

forgot to add my real worry about a lockdown is that it wont fully work, or effectively enough unless its a complete draconian data monitored and physical lockdown like they did in China. But that's actually the opposite of letting people out for a run...
