Robert Putnam, famed author of Bowling Alone, has spent much of his career publicizing the dangers of diversity. His most famous claim, of course, is that “social capital” – usually operationalized as “trust” – is vital for a good society. And though he’s a liberal in good standing, he urges us to face facts: diversity – especially ethnic diversity – is very bad for trust. As Putnam’s 2006 Johan Skytte Prize Lecture summarizes:

Diversity, at least in the short run, seems to bring out the turtle in all of us.

Funny how we get Will Smith movies now about concussions and CTE in the National Football League, but nobody want to tackle the obvious cultural obsession with inflicting Traumatic Brain Injuries on people in the black community.

I bet if you did brain scans of black high school seniors, 35-50% of them would have early stages of CTE.

And now they are allowed to inflict Traumatic Brain Injuries inside CLASSROOMS. They might get suspended for a day or two, but they are let right back in the classroom, because nobody wants to expel black students.

In almost every video of a black people fight, you will see dozens of people just standing there filming it, and egging them on, with no sense of empathy or concern for the life-altering effects of traumatic brain injuries.

And any black person who tried to break up the fight would just get beaten half to death, like a woke white liberal at a BLM protest.

Geesh the guy isn't saying he needs to win and be some sort of big influencer. He says winning wasn't enough and that's why he worked with sponsors to help kids specifically. I commend that because in this day and age most people try to draw attention to themselves rather than stray away from media and simply help someone. Would like to know more about this project personally. Is it just African American? Is this stemmed solely from the lack of african Americans being presented in media or more because of the lack of sponsorship towards minority athletes?

He's like an Eskimo moving to Harlem, and complaining that Rucker Park doesn't have enough Eskimos playing basketball there, and how tough it is being the only Eskimo, and insinuating that blacks need to do more to bring more Eskimos into the playground.

Like I said , it was mistake and you are still applying too much assumption. I don't know who all would say what I did. My comment about the mother comes from knowing the white women that I am related to , sisters and sister in law and some others I know and don't really know but whose opinions I know. No , they don't have adopted mixed race children. You have no proof that I want to hate someone who just looks different. You don't know that I speak a language spoken by a mostly down trodden people who much of white america despises, you don't know who my friends have been or anything else. You don't know that I grew up underclass to the black firemen and postal carrier's families that lived in my neighborhood and that I admired them and their children. This thread reminds me of what someone said the other day. Moderate liberals are afraid to speak out against the fringe from their side of the aisle. Not sure you are the fringe, but there is definitely some of that here on this thread.
