A needle in the arm paints a picture of substance use if that were the case. But what kind of substance was used? Did she test positive? Those arguments would be submitted, creating reasonable doubt.

Testing positive is the closest thing there is to evidence and proof, especially if the B sample comes back positive as well. Because regardless of the drug got into the system, positive is positive.

Lance admitted to doping, and others stated that he doped because they helped him. That is not the same thing.

Dibaba has not admitted to any kind of doping, and no one has stated that they helped or seen dibaba doped....so no evidence there.

I do not what she is doing. All I know is she never tested positive, and has never admitted to any type of doping. Now if you are saying she is guilty by association, then Shannon Rowbury is guilty of doping by being associated with NOP, as well as Hassan, Keljelka, etc.

Until she tests positive or admits to doping,etc, she is a clean runner, which is why she is allowed to compete internationally.

So no, that isn't technically proof the way that a positive test would be, but anyone with half a brain can look at the evidence and determine that Dibaba was very likely doping when she ran 3:50, and might be back on the sauce based on how she looks this year.

So would you be in support of banning an athlete based on a suspicious profile or a series of suspicious circumstantial events in the absence of specific evidence, such as a failed drug test or admission of doping? I'm actually curious.

No, that would be a bad precedent. But that doesn't change the fact that Dibaba is a doper and we'll keep reminding people of that when she wins.

No one “knows” with 100% certainty who is doping and who isn’t, so that isn’t really the question. I still dislike people who are extremely likely to be doping, and Dibaba is clearly in this category. If you could place a bet on this, what kind of odds would you take that she dopes? I would probably take at least 100:1 odds, with most of the other runners 50:50 or better.

Diamond League has spread itself too thin. Only a few good races with top athletes vs a bunch of nobodies mainly.

No, not in favor of banning Dibaba or anyone else without a positive test. However, I still think she's a cheat and hope she eventually gets caught.

Regina had a massive resurgence to miraculously run that at like 37 years of age or something ludicrous. The years have made it fuzzy, but it was just plain blatant. Simpson has been a stud since college with Wetmore.

McCloud was likely paid by Holloway to take out Shubenkov so he can look good in the WCs.

Okay let's make clear one thing - just because a bunch of us *think* Dibaba is doping, doesn't mean she should be banned. Flipside of that, just because she has never failed a test or admitted to doping, doesn't mean it's absolutely screaming obvious she's doping.

Why do I say that?

1) coach caught with EPO And his defence was literally "I wasn't using it, athletes I was living with were using it."

2) multiple athletes from said coach caught and banned.

3a) from a country famous for not having a functioning anti doping program.,

3b) where a pharmacy across the road from the national stadium admitted to journalists that they sell EPO over the counter to athletes.

3c) where anti doping wasn't operated on one of the days of the National champs "because it was a Sunday."

4) the only people even in the same league as her time wise a have massive asterisks next to their name. Let's look at the top 12 1500 runners of all time.

You have six Chinese athletes who all ran 3:50-3:53 IN THE SAME TWO RACES. Literally, Yunxia Qu ran 3:57 in one of these races and came 8th! Yet the fastest any of these 6 ever ran outside of literally the Beijing Champs is a 3:57. None of the other 5 ever broke 4 outside of China. Their coach has been accused of running a doping program (1990s China largest producer of global anabolic steroids lol) and several later caught for doping. Then in 11th and 12th you get another two women from the same two races, same national team coach, same story of never producing the goods outside of China.

Then you have Tatyana Kazankina (6th all time) from the USSR who had never broken 4:10 let alone 4, then conveniently the year of the Moscow Olympics runs 3:52 before *never breaking 4 again and running a 4:36 mile the next time she raced.*

After that you get Paula Ivan (8th all time) rom Romania who again, never breaks 4 until whoops, Olympic year, drops a freaking 3:53 inSeoul and oh look, never breaks 4 minutes again (she literally ran a 4:26 in 2000 lol.

The most respectable woman from the top 12 other than Dibaba is Olga Dvirna, but that's a stretch given she's 1980s USSR which which is accused of running a state doping program plus she's the classic case of never breaking 4, then running 3:54 and being hot for 2 years then never breaking 4 again.

Then we get to 13th - Laura Muir in Paris 2016. I've seen some crazy stuff like "ooo she is a get, bet she can use drugs she gets that are meant to go to animals" but thus far neither her not her coach have any accusations against her.

ANYWAY, are you telling me you can look at a woman who BEAT ALL OF THE ABOVE, SUPER SKRTCHY AND SUSPICIOUS athletes with tons of question marks, AND that she also has question marks next to her.... And you look at that and think "nah mate, people are just jealous/racist/always looking for dopers. "

Should she be banned without full evidence? Hell no. Would I leap for joy if she did fail a test? Absolutely. Do I think Ethiopia need to undergo a total overhaul of their anti doping program a la Russia or be banned from competition? I think it already would have happened if there weren't concerns of a) racism allegations and b) scared of the damage it would do to distance running.

What I love is that Jenny Simpson called out Dibaba in the midst of all the commotion, pending investigation. She swore that Dibaba would be banned and lose her WR.

Fast-forward, Dibaba is clean, and now is tested more than ever with her biological passport, can't microdose, nothing, and she still smacks Simpson around and Jenny continues to celebrate every race like she' s won, when in fact, she's losing to more and more competitors.

And then Laura Muir came on the scene and Simpson had to bite her tongue because Muir took down Dibaba and Simpson didn't want to call Muir a doper.

Jenny is as suspect as them all.

Jacobs was banned due to politics and supposition, not for failing a drug test.
