I knew a guy in high school who who ran in the upper 15 range for 5K and could bench many many reps of 330. I don't have any idea what his max was - I don't think he even tried to max out back then. He was primarily an 800 runner. This was back in the early 2000s. The guy had a couple of epic indoor races where he finished a close second behind Said Ahmed (in the 600 I think) and made Ahmed work hard for the win.
Hunter is very strong, but you don’t need to lie about his running times. That just gives him a bad rep.

Stemmer was a 13:30s / 28:30s guy who could also - at his peak running fitness level - bench 285+

other exercises there are lots of ways to cheat. Many people do not seem to even realize they are doing it.

Truth is not many people can even bench press their own weight. So, NO there are not very many people
who can bench press 200. 315 is a noteworthy achievement if you did it without your feet moving and your
entire back and shoulder blades on the bench. (Plus no spotter and from off your chest, no halfsies allowed.)

You shouldn’t have your entire back on the bench. Your butt and shoulder blades should be, but not your entire back.
I ran 16:17 at 195 lbs in 2017. I benched 3 months before.
My money is on Kelly Pavlik being up there. Pound for pound a solid boxer and in the 31s for 10k. I acknowledge the post was about 5k but given Pavlik's explosiveness when he fought I figured 10k was more impressive.

I’ve won the Arnold 5k pump and run a few times with my best time at that event of 16:04 and 30 reps of body weight. My max is 260 but I hardly ever go heavy. Best 5,000 is 15:43 on the track.
The best time run after lifting 30 reps at that event is Joe Norton at 15:33 I believe. He was 155lbs.
Someone brought up Hunter McIntyre. He is much stronger than me, but I’m not sure he has broken 16 in the 5,000. He’s a very impressive athlete.
I also don’t believe Solinsky did 235. I’ve never heard of that before.
Like Alan said previously, the bench press can be fairly separate from the running. I think something also involving pulling (pull ups, rows) and a squat or deadlift would show a more rounded strength athlete.

Well others have gone above and beyond what I have benched and run for 5k.
5k road PR 16:21
Bench max of 180lbs
However I was benching at one point 6 sets of 10 reps at 150lbs with a few sets at 155lbs.
At about a 160ish lb body weight.
I believe I could bench 250-300 if I worked on it though I don't care to.
A 5k PR has more meaning to me.
I think I'm giving up on weight lifting for the indefinite future. Have done it for several years. I feel better when I'm lighter.
I witnessed a guy in EOD who was over 200lbs run a mile in 4:40, a 5k in the high 16ʻs and benched one rep of 405 within the span of a few days. His name was Brian Fitzgerald an enlisted guy. beast.
