About regular walking/strolling speed for me.
Slightly slower than MP.
A bit slower than my IPace...not too shabby I guess when you're pushing 50 !
6 minute pace is a distant memory.
I can't even run one 6 minute mile let alone a whole 5k, or *gulp* a marathon at that pace..
Flat out, minus 15 seconds.

I know what he was asking.
Unfortunately, 6 was about my recovery run pace in college too. And I sucked ass because I was always tired. I wish I would've had smart people around me to tell me to take it easy.

For you, is it a:
Half marathon race pace?
5k race pace?
Easy long run pace?
Fast tempo run pace?
Mile repeat interval pace?
Mile PB?
Hopeless hobbyjogger pace?
Fast pace?
Would like to hear your thoughts.
Currently it is my mile PB, but I'm in better shape now than when I ran that 2.5 months ago. Ten years ago in high school, it was my 3 mile race pace (grew up in CA). By the end of the year it should be slightly faster than 5k race pace
In my early to mid twenties it was second half of recovery run pace. I've got accustomed to slower recovery run pace. Usually average 6:45 pace now as opposed to 6:15 a few years back. I still race at the same level. No need to kill the recovery runs.
For years it was the general standard for me between ten and twenty miles. I did 5: 50 for the hour run and 20 miles at 6:01, but, mainly I sort of thought of 6mpm as the line between jogging and racing. For the marathon it is pretty competitive.
tempo
In my prime, it was a 10-mile run in a group where we talked about sports and women every step of the way.
Troll Rate, for some people 6 minute pace WAS recovery pace when we were really fit. I know it was for me at the peak of my career. I'm an old fart, can't run anymore, but did in the day like a few old timers on this thread. My best workout ever was 6 x 800 at 2:06 with a 90 second lap (6 minute mile pace) in between. So a continuous run effort workout. That, however was 35 years ago.
A little slower than my 5km pace and a little faster than my 8km pace. It would be a fast tempo run for sure and I would definitely start to fall off pace after 20 minutes.
6x800m averaging 2:06 with 90s of steady running as recovery is rather impressive. What were your PBs?
5km pace
Painful memories to think it was my easy day pace 30 years ago.
Father Time can kiss my äss.
6:00 is half marathon PR, tempo pace for me.
Sometimes I think if I didn’t think in miles and minutes, I wouldn’t have got “stuck in the 6:00” with that nice round number as a go-to.
A distant memory.
