It happens to the best.
It happens to the best.
What actually happened is that the guy who passed the OP was extremely motivated to not be beaten by one of those chumps who runs a terribly paced race.
When the OP was flailing around and looking back as he died the guy with the kick found an extra gear.

You ran your first 600 at 10:40 pace and finished at 11:34? Looks like you went out too hard, settled into a groove and were too gassed to finish strong. You ran 5:34/6:00 splits. I'm willing to bet he ran closer to even.
If you rank your laps from 1-16, with 1 being fastest and 16 being slowest, in your last 800 you ran your 13th, 16th, 12th and 7th ranked laps.
You did slow down, and he sped up. Seems like it worked for him.
I agree, I am a junior in high school, in my experience in racing, even or negative splits is the best way to run, especially in high school where nearly everyone starts out too fast. I've been struggling with injury for a year and a half, but my fastest two mile was a 10:02 freshman year and that was two 5:01's back to back
You sound like a weak baby. Grow up and get faster. You're jealous of us runners who can kick your ass.
