Last November I was visiting a friend at Washington State University to watch the Apple Cup. After the game ended and the cougars lost I still had to go running. So at 9:00 pm I ran through the greek system to get to their track. I think I heard just about every generic smartass comment I'd heard in my 8 years of running during the two minutes it took to get through the area, but the best was this one guy who just looked at me dumbfounded as I ran by and yelled "HERE??? NOW???"

I went to Clemson to train several years ago. One hot day as I was running along a dirt road near a reservoir, a Camaro came barreling toward me. I figured it was the usual crew of numbnuts rednecks, which it was. However, instead of throwing a beer at me (which I've had happen), they stopped and offered me one. I almost accepted.
As I was surging up a hill past a group of female bikers at about 5min pace...
"I want your baby!!!"
On a run in college, a teammate and me were making our way through a 6 miler when we came across some Catholic school girls waiting to catch their bus back home.
One of them yelled out, "Oohh, these guys are cuuuute!"
To which another girl replied, "Eewww, they're like 30!"
Thanks you little bitch, I was 20 at the time.
Well, we got a good laugh out of it anyway.
I was running my mid week longer run, this was several years ago (ie slim and fit) and I was going up a series of hills. In the background I start to hear some yelling, sounds like it is coming from a car, I think, oh great, another chuckle head. I turn to look and it is this guy zoomming by in a Ford Ranger truck pumping his fist out the window and yelling "great pace, you look great, keep it up, yeah, yeah!" Needless to say I was taken back by the encouragement.
Of course this story is balanced out by another. A few years before that I was running a loop around a park, on the grass next to a road, a car drives by, slows, rolls down the window and propositions me for oral sex (not sure if he wanted me to do him, or the other way). I had to pass on the offer, being that I am a guy and he was also (not that there is anything wrong with that).

There's this one road that I run on almost everyday, and I always pass the same houses and sometimes the people are outside so I'll wave or whatever. Well the other day, the cutest little boy who lives in one of the houses is outside on his front lawn and as I pass he says, "Mommy, you know that lady who runs forever. . ." I was beaming the rest of my run.

Yes, One night I was nearing the end of one of those great, cruising, effortless long runs, about 15 years ago, when some perv pulled up alongside of me in a car and said, in a serious manner, "Want a blow job?, No charge." I was so stunned and in another world that all I could say was "No". Wish I had had time to think of some cute response, or to go over and put his nose out of joint. He just drove away.
One day before a soccer game I go down to the track to warmup up some extra, like a good mile and a half. I'm moving at around 6:30 pace. There was this old guy walking in lane eight of the track, and each time I went past him he would look at me and say "you're rollin', baby, you're rollin'!" All I could do was laugh.
I was running in the winter but it was a warmer day about 40 to 45 degrees and so i decided to run in shorts and a long sleeve shirt and as i pass some kids about 6 years old tehy yell "put a coat on your gonna get a cold" i started laughing

I was doing some fast strides in the park after a great summer run. This fat little mexican kid, bout seven yrs. old probably, is playing futbol with his dad. Kid yells out "hey meester, are you the fastest runner in the world?" I start to laugh, look at the dad, whose expression is like "well are you?"
all i could say was "nope, not even close" but it sure felt like it.

my usual response to assholes is "blow me" but i guess that wouldn't have worked in that situation.
