Is Kejelcha or Mo a better runner?

These two posters are exactly right. All the Mo fanboys keep bringing up his medals and the fact that he beat some fast guys (many of whom were already washed up), but no one in their right mind would put Mo on the level of Bekele or Geb. Medals are important, but they aren't everything. To be one of the greatest of all time, you need to attack world records. Kejelcha is already doing that and has the potential to break a few of them. That's why people are excited.

Glad we agree on this. comparing a 21 year old to a 3 year old. Of course Mo is gonna have more hardware and medals.

Now Bekele is 36 compare those two. Or someone who has finished their professional track career at least.

It's not really a fair comparison. As another poster said, it's like comparing a 21 year old to a 3 year old. Of course the older guy with the longer career is going to have more medals. What's interesting is that the 3 year old in this example is already faster than the 21 year old and has the potential to set world records.

I didn’t create the comparison - the thread title is “Is Kejelcha or Mo a better runner?”

I just weighed in that it is not remotely close, just as Mo vs Bekele or Geb is not remotely close. Maybe someday it will be, but it is not now, and the thread was made now.

right now its MO. However, this is only because MO is on a different level when it comes to racing...it is very hard to beat him, even if the time is slow or fast. Kejelcha has run some great times, and will continue to run even faster. The only real indicator will be if he can pull off major titles at worlds or olympics, which I think he can.

Too soon to say. Kejelcha is only 21. Mo did not join NOP till he was 27-28. Kejelcha is definitely better than Mo at the same age. The question is can Alberto develop him into a worldbeater like he did with Mo?

I think the thing is that Mo Farah is 14 years older. Thats a HUGE difference.

On the Flip side what was Mo doing at Kejelcha's age? It is obvious that he has a had a better career...because he's had a WHOLE track career. The OP shouldve stated the obvious there.

And you conveniently avoid mentioning that Mo is way older (if you don't think that matters, you're an idiot), was irrelevant at Kejelcha's age, is slower at multiple distances, and was never good enough to chase records. You Mo fanboys are some of the most dishonest imbeciles I've ever encountered. Kejelcha at 21 is more successful than Mo was at 21, and already has faster PRs than Mo ever did. Give it a rest.

Maybe wait until Kejelcha has actually had a full career before starting this thread, then. Or maybe ask people to guess who they think will have the better career when all is said and done. Because the question as posed is silly - Mo's running career dwarves that of the young Kejelcha.

He's using historical bests. Meaning he's looking at their accomplishments. Meaning Farah wins by a landslide for now.
