Someone running slow being suspicious is a reach. And I didn't include Centro because as far as I know he hasn't called anyone out for doping just because they ran faster than he has or beat him in a race. It just seems some of these athletes are so self-absorbed they can't even fathom that someone could just be better than them.

you look at emma coburn's body type vs the kenyans and its incredible that she is within 200 meters of any of them. her running mechanics are way less athletic as well.

Emma likely had suspicions about Ruth Jebet coming out of nowhere so she is suspicious of women who burst onto the steeple scene but as some have pointed out Beatrice has run 8:28 for 3k. She's a very good flat runner.

And I've never really bought the idea that people dope up for one race. So everyone roided up for the 12:43 5k ?

I can see how Emma is suspicious of course of the world record holder. I'm very surprised she expressed her suspicions publicly.

Why not expect that 8:28 to be dirty as well?

Beatrice hurdles like a man. There is no comparison among the rest of the elite field, even Coburn. I know I hate when hurdling technique is used as an argument for how someone can run so fast and still be clean, such as the case with Jager. But I guess the key difference is Beatrice does not have a WADA strike against her, like Jager, and although his technique is smooth, every elite man knows how to hurdle properly. Beatrice is at another level. No one amongst the woman can take a water jump without breaking stride, without flailing arms, looking as correct on the first hurdle as the last. Must have something to do with her smoking sprinter's body.

Disgusting vindictive comment by Coburn. Without any other shred of evidence she has attempted to kick the chair out from the outstanding track performance of the season.

Thankfully I believe this will more harm Coburns reputation than that of Chepkoech.

Coburn could learn much from the humble approach and gracious attitude of Frierichs. Sorry Emma, you may be a large fish within a small pond whilst in America, but you look wooden and cumbersome in comparison to Chepkoech.

This scenario echoes that of Ayana breaking the 10k record two years back. “Precedents” in terms of times in events are only relative if the event has a deep history of being run hard out - something nobody could ever say regarding the female steeple or 10k when the records were smashed

Sprinter power and distance runner stamina, it sounds like you are trying to build a case against her.

I think a missed point would is that if both Chepkoech and Jebet are dirty, then the next best runner is 8:58. This would mean that the top American is only 2 seconds or ~1 second per mile slower than the best in the world.

This conclusion assumes the "top American" is clean too.

I think it's good to be skeptical but after the WR I called up John Kellogg (who didn't watch the race or no about the WR) and asked him what the women's steeple WR should be. He said something like 8:42-8:45. I put that in the thread after the race.
