I was a 14:19 5k runner - yeah - about 30 years and 30 pounds ago - but there is nothing wrong with that workout. It was a good test. She has always had the speed. She won HS state in the 400... and 800... and 1500... and cross. She is learning pace, sustained effort, recovery, and endurance.

? funny, I know someone who was faster than her over 400m at the same age, a better genetic specimen, made an Olympic final and couldn't run near her times this season. Yet the very same people on here that are calling a Muir a doper, yet when Shelby smashes her, "oh she's clean" or "she improved her training this year."

You conveniently forget that Regina was born in 1963 - and had most of her PR's in 1998 - 2000 when she was a 35 - 37 YO. My guess is that Regina was not taking drugs for much of her career when she was just a very good runner.
Not saying Shelby must be clean but what she is doing is certainly less suspicious. A more interesting comparison is with Suzy Favor Hamilton who graduated in 1990 but ran her best 1500 in 2000 some 10 years later.
