Meanwhile, why are South London Harriers getting out of this? -Yes they may be in that ballpark now but when they were formed they were as distant to London as Oxford London Airport is now. Within spitting distance of Kent too. Let's at least start on them then move on -Mr Toad.. I cannot believe -the toad is the ugliest of all the amphibians...

I met a couple of the better speaking Hercules guys en-route to a fixture last year. I said our dilapidated Kent AC bus had broken down so I had needed to walk the 96 miles from Dover (if only our races were local!). Anyway, with reference to the broken team horse and cart this well spoken chap offered me a few ponies in cash and said "you should upgrade" -as quick as a flash I said "So should you Hercules boy -to a new face" -he almost soiled himself!
It looks like the Lewisham Harriers of Ladyboy track are retaliating. And yet, Kent still isn’t in Surrey.

Debateable. But Kent AC which is not in Surrey wouldn’t have won last season if one of the Hercules runners didn’t go without spikes at Reigate. Even though Kent AC which is not in surrey drafted in the ‘rest of England’ All Stars at the expense of some of their bread and butter A team runners.
So let's just re-address some fundamentals..
The majority of the Division 1 clubs are not based in modern day Surrey.
This includes.... wait for it...
Hercules
Belgrave
Thames
SLH (believe it or not)
Herne Hill.
I tried explaining this to Peter Clarke. He swore at me, as quick as a flash I said "Don't be Blue Peter". -I had the last laugh -now F!CK OFF..
So would you agree that most of those clubs used to be in Surrey at one point? And perhaps at least when they were accepted into the Surrey League? Whereas Lewisham Harriers have never been in Kent, I mean Surrey and certainly weren’t when accepted into the Surrey League.
Also, what’s Peter Clarke the South African artist got to do with it?
Just seen this guff from The People’s Voice (I call him that because usually he is the voice of reason, the David Milliband of running). But this is a load of tosh:
“I respect all our competition in the SL and the battle with Wimbledon was fantastic this season, but people having a go at us for turning up and competing is bollocks. If you don't like it, just run faster and ensure a Surrey team is victorious after four fixtures.”
No one is having a go at you for turning up and competing. We commend what you bring to the league, you just shouldn’t be there and what you do bring to the league should not be a reason for your inclusion. It’s a bit like when Australia were accepted into the Eurovision Song Contest. We all love the Ozzie’s, but no.
This thread is so entertaining that would you Englanders please start posting videos of these league races, with commentators partial to the various teams and insulting them and each other according to the styles and methods you are demonstrating here. Thank you.
One can see why all these Surrey runners are angry. I mean, you would be if to get to the main annual meet, you have to catch the train to Surrey, stopping at Rejection, Disappointment, Backstabbing Central and Shattered Dreams Parkway.
Are you an Americaner kind sir? It’s not as simple in England. Cross country courses aren’t on good courses, with mud and natural obstacles that team coaches don’t go out and remove the night before.

But for the Kent boys it must be a bloody long journey. No wonder they need to find the nearest Wetherspoons post race to rehydrate and debrief.

Reduction / ommission of track-route signs was the way to give home teams the advantage. Sparse directioning, to send the unwitting into foilage and uncharted wooded areas.
I'm a proud Surrey man. Nothing brings a glow to my heart as much as Chessington World of Adventures or Ascot race course, which are the crème de la crème of what our fine county boasts.
Kent on the other hand. Say the word Kent and I'll immediately think of bucktoothed simpletons with eyebrows on their cheeks... horses running through council estates... men in platform shoes being arrested for bombings... badly tarmacced drives... in this county.
That said, those boys can sure run fast.
