Wrong again. It was *you* who argued with *my* point, which was unequivocal: Shorter is not a double gold medallist and saying that he is, "in our opinion," is nonsensical.

Having no rebuttal to my argument (which is based in fact, not opinion), you tried to convince me that Shorter *should* be awarded the gold (your opinion, which I have never denied) and then started calling names...

Probably not. Some sports tested far fewer athletes then. Not sure what IAAF did, but swimming in 1976 tested the winner and one random. Now the top 4 and some randoms are tested (not sure what the number of randoms are). This came out of a story about Shirley Babashoff and the women's US swimming team in 1976 getting beaten by the East Germans. Babashoff claimed at the time that the E German's were on the juice. The Stasi records (gotta love the Germans for keeping such good records) showed how many swimmers are on the juice.

The problem is that the IOC set a rule in place that says that once a time period has passed medals cannot be withdrawn. Sort of a statute of limitations. I fully understand why they did it--you just do not want the process continuing for decades like the Jim Thorpe case.

And his supplier probably didn't keep records like STASI did.
