Hmmmm, seems like there are some back stories I am not aware of and why there are people here that don't have a high opinion of the set up of this run. It could also explain what Trasie posted about on Facebook where she claims to have no idea why someone was so upset about receiving abusive unsolicited messages after asking her questions. Do you have more details or some quotes to share?

It will be interesting how communications specialist Trasie Phan will navigate this PR disaster. Now Sandra Villness has a fake marathon record in her books and we are supposed to believe her "record breaking" trans con run.

This story might implode faster than Darren Kavinoky's epic 25 mile Trans Con attempt.

So I've been checking out the other claims on Sandra Vi's athletic achievements page besides the marathon PB claim. I found something very odd. On Sandra's website she claims that she was the Women's Master Champion of two 100 mile races:

However, from checking out the results of the Daytona 100 (2016) and Keys 100 (2017), I just don't see how either could true when there is another female at both races finishing several places ahead of her and are 1 year or older than her. Am I missing something or should I be asking questions?

From the Keys 100 race, the results show that Nanacy Levene (age 49) finished quite a ways ahead of Sandra Villines (age 44):

The Keys 100 has awards for the top masters finishers as well as age group awards. I assume they are defining masters as 40 years old and above and not 30 years old and above (since there are women age 30-40 finishing ahead of Sandra):

Sandra would qualify for the female age group award for 40-44 but I don't see how she could be the women's masters champion for the Keys 100 Ultra. I can't see that claim as being true.

For the Daytona 100 we have a similar scenario where Regina Sooey (age 45) finishes quite a ways ahead of Sandra Villines (age 44):

That is also why I cannot see how Sandra's claim to be the women's master champion for the Daytona 100 could be true either. Any thoughts about whether my analysis is correct?

3. A fake stage race completion. It was not a race because there where not at least 3 starters and she didn't the complete course of over 370 miles.

I wouldn't go so far to say they are fake but we are certainly giving Sandra the microscope treatment to see how well her credentials stand up to being a run across America challenger.

Nope.

Win of Masters division means the fastest runner over 40.

If a 47 year old runner is faster than the winner of the 40-45 division, he or she wins that.

From talking with Trasie and the race organizers of the Keys 100 and Daytona 100, Sandra was indeed the women's masters champion in those races because the top 3 women automatically get the overall awards and do not get to have a second award. This leaves only the Vibha marathon PB issue that is ongoing in the emails (which Trasie has already acknowledged as a short course).

Other than that, I think we will be just sitting back and seeing how Sandra does on her run since she does have an established ultrarunning pedigree (although not enough multi-day running to say how she will do).

I'm still curious to what others in this thread experienced when asking questions to Phan Sports in the past and now.

This is already a PR disaster thanks to this inexperienced double act of tweedle dee and tweedle dumb, Trasie Phan and Shellie Corralejo.

Bolshy and defensive if anyone makes any kind of comment and they don't even know how far a marathon is!

Sandra is not in Pete's class of running and they have no clue about this.

Sitting on a computer barking off snooty messages to people is not how you "manage a run" .

I suppose when this falls apart in four days it will all be our fault.

Never question Sandra or her cronies, as this is "cyber bullying".

I'm still curious to what others in this thread experienced when asking questions to Phan Sports in the past and now.

I wrote a couple comments on the fb page of Run Mission California page because there were uncommented drives in cars. There was some back an forth discussion about this with Tracie.

What happened was that the course was actually over 370 miles long and they had to skip a couple of sections in order to have not too long of running days. On the second day Sandra missed a turn. But instead of running back to the turn and keep going ( as usual in races) she got shuttled forward the amount she ran in the wrong direction. Not too much wrong with that, but it was never mentioned.

On the last day I believe there was a road block because of flooding so they got stopped and had to restart somewhere else.

At the end she deleted all my comments.
