Why would that be tough? Because she is American, and was young?

Or that she signed up for a program with doping accusations and got worse. So she was on a great doping program as a high schooler, went pro and stopped? Seems unlikely. Now I am not saying she wasn't doping. I am just saying stopping doping seems like an unlikel. Injuries, coaching changes, maturity,... all seem a lot more likely. You can look at numerous people that have struggled to get back to peak levels. I am sure some were doping. Others just struggled to get everything to line up.

There are lots of reasons for drops in performance. The doping concerns mainly stem from the fact that her coach (1) had one athlete test positive for EPO - the who told a story about the coachthen changed it and (2) had another hurt athlete caught in possession of EPO at the hotel the team was using. She also topped a WR considered to be doped. It's always possible she is clean.
