Checking back into this thread expecting it to have turned into a dumpster fire, but pleasantly surprised! Appreciate all the words of support and constructive criticism.

Hopefully, there is enough content where some things resonate even if others don't - like if you hate the podcast, but enjoy the social media, that's okay! Definitely think LetsRun and Citius can co-exist and as many here know, I am a regular visitor.

But laughing at the idea of highlighting luxury watches as being corporate shills. While I don't own one myself, it's a "hobby" of mine, and it's something a lot of Instagram accounts and blogs I follow do. Need to find a way to monetize that...

Citius is the a scheme common wth Nike advertising. They use unpaid fanbois who want to be Journalists like Anderson Cooper. Runner Space, Portland Track, Tracklandia, Competitor Magazine, etc. are certainly as well or so I hear. Numerous interns have worked for free over the years for those websites. You know they promise exposure will get them a job in a big city. Never happens. Art, Journalism, Film, Graphic Design, Theater, etc. has only 1 in 1000 with a minimum wage salary. They end up interning for no money and usually stay with roomies in Eugene, Portland area, or metro NYC for 2 or 3 years or so then move on to a real job. We all know many runners who fell for this and have regrets and are embarrassed.

Citius Mag pays zero. USATF pays three people $500 day, no airfare, no food, no hotel, all photos are transfered USATF property. Associated Press pays $100 day, no food, no hotel, no airfare. Getty Contributor App on average pays one cent $.01 per fully captioned snapshot. Getty stringers get the same AP rate. Getty staffers get $46,000.00 year same as Walmart shelf stockers who clog up the aisles.

At least a couple can barely survive while working at Starbucks, McDonald's, Home Depot, etc.

An as old timer I'm not of the opinion of many my age that Chris Chavez should be ashamed of misrepresenting Citius Magazine as a news magazine when it's actually a Nike promotions and advertising paid commercial. Started 60 years ago, Track and Field News has never been a news magazine and never had a a transparent, open, and public ed editorial board, mission statement, nor did they ever allow open, public scrutiny. The other Nike ad/promo sites like Tracklandia, Portland Track, etc, don't either. But neither does 10,000 unaffiliated Nike sites and social media influencers, gondola.cc hobbyists. Overseas job shoppers have made a fortune doing the tedious Final Cut Pro, Photo Shop, and localized edits needed for a very low $1 to $5 per minute rate for race videos for example. It's a World Wide team effort of love to support Charity Sports. Overall, I admire their dedication. You should too.

Stop dissin Cit you effin communists. 10 years ago it was Nike's newspapers and TV stations: Oregonian, Channel 13, Register-Guard, and so on, who downsized and converted to free housewives and high school coaches with English and Video degrees. That’s the issue with them. On the spectrum of websites they are more of a social media influencer/ fan boy type website than pure journalists. That is fine and I like some of that content.

But they do not disclose when they are getting paid by someone. Phil Knight gave them a ton of cash. Not disclosed. The Omega watch commercial above apparently wasn’t paid but brands pay them all the time. If you’re doing paid media work tell us.

The model definitely is say positive things and keep the athletes and brand$ happy.
