What do you need to know, he was fired. Is trying to talk some of his girls into transferring to wherever he ends up. Showing his true character.

PWD expects everyone he coaches to aspire to being a professional athlete. An extremely limited social life and taking the easiest classes possible are "encouraged". This does not fit in with the Harvard ethos. He may be an excellent coach, but he was horribly out of place at Harvard if his primary objective is to turn his athletes into professionals.

Secondly, I agree with the latter point. There is a happy medium between 'glorified club team' and 'pressure cooker of crazy expectations' that CAN be reached.

Excellent point. Another poster thought Steve Magness would be a good candidate. Since you bring up the point about the Harvard ethos I would say Magness is not a good fit. Magness is taking kids who aren't blue chip in high school and developing them to the brink of elite status plus he is apparently still into doing research. Doesn't seem like Harvard would be a good fit for his type of program and interests.

You'd be angry also if some ahole coach ruined one or more of your seasons.
If we're counting XC, Indoor, Outdoor separately, I'd estimate somewhere between 8 and 12 myself before I figured out how to get over it and excel regardless. And I suppose you're right, I was angry for a while but that didn't get me anywhere. And I can count the number of times I tried to get my coach fired on zero hands. I certainly never let a coach turn me onto dangerous habits (overtraining I'd say was my fault).
