I like how we're all pretending the ability to stack ten+ years of training on each other has nothing to do with genetics. Durability/longevity is a genetic gift severely lacking in people like Webb, GF etc
Zatopek definitely was a freak of nature, which qualifies him to be one of the most genetically gifted whites ever. My vote for Nurmi is simple: he was a beast. The guy set 22 world records ranging from the 1500 to the 20k. Not to mention that in some of his races he won with little recovery during the same day and he was monk with his training. Never beaten in cross country and the 10k. Compared to the other whites mentioned in this thread, they are not even close to Nurmi's accomplishments and raw talent (like shooting a freight training with a pellet gun). More respect for the Flying Fin is much appreciated.

Or running the 1500 and 5000 within an hour and establishing world records on both during a qualifying race for a country, then come to the Olympics and win both events within 2 hours, one day later win his qualifying heat for another race and a day later win another event at 113 degrees followed by another gold less than 24 hours later.

So lets play this stupid game: For one, Rupp has smoke all Nurmi's times, especially the 5 & 10 by huge margins. Secondly, Rupp's had to face far tougher competition in the "dime a dozen" superbly genetically gifted Kenyans & Ethiopians. Rupp's Bronze in London against the Ethiopians is huge for a non-African runner in the 10000 in this era of African dominance. You should be on top of that.
What's next? Are you going to start comparing Rupp's marathon talent with that of Pheidippides? 😅

Your argument isn't very compelling. In fact, some of your statements are plain dumb; "Rupp would be eating his dust?" Really? Did you put that in a computer simulation or something? LOL. Btw, where are the Finns in today's era? How about 20 yrs ago? Other than your Nurmi & Viren, what happen if they're so great?
You really need to educate yourself on what Rupp has accomplished in this era - an era dominanted by East Africans with times never seen before. Rupp holds two (2) times in the top 30 of the all-time fastest 10000, in which the top 300 is completed dominated by Africans. Rupp's 26:44.36 is *24th* all-time, but 15th on an individual basis since some runners ahead of him have more than one time listed (e.g., Bekele has 5!). In addition, Rupp is just one of a few non-Africans to go sub-13. A bronze against loaded a field of Ethiopians at London and an impressive bronze in the heat at Rio. And Rupp has persevered through his fair share of injuries.
