Check her results record. She's not.

Did Laura crush an Obiri who gave her all? No. Obiri gave up with 100 to go and jogged over the line not even bothering to lap those runners. She probably could have run 8:27 if she'd given her all. 8:26.4 over 8:27 wouldn't have been a crushing.

This means a penultimate 100 of 14.9 and a last 100 of 14.9.

Therefore, Muir made NO ACCELERATION when Obiri got on her shoulder with 100 to go. Obiri simply topped out with her effort and gave up when she realised she wasn't going to get past her, giving the IMPRESSION that Muir accelerated. That was plain to see before even checking those 100m splits.
