Yes.....she was running 7:00 minute miles toward the end.

OP should probably give Jorgensen a little more credit for the amount of work she puts in on a daily basis. She wasn't just running 40-50 MPW she was also swimming and or biking everyday as well. Does all that translate muscularly to running? Not really. Aerobically? Yes. She is not just a freak talent who ran 2:41 on half the training of her competitors. She is a triathlete who is underdeveloped physically as a runner but is an aerobic monster who spends more time exercising each day than probably every other runner in the field. Could she run faster if she focused solely on running? Yes. Would she be a 2:2X marathoner? Highly doubt it.

Alan and Lukas are not marathoners. They are male triathletes, each transitioning from track events.
I meant someone who was an exclusive marathoner.....male or female.

Actually Lukas was a triathlete first and then concentrated on running for a short bit. That's why he didn't stay on the college team very long.

^ or maybe just how different the training is and good proof that being fit a world class triathlete does not translate to being a world class marathoner. Feel pretty confident if a pro runner trained for a triathlon similar to how Jorgensen trained for New York Jorgensen would demolish them as well. Apples and Oranges buddy.

Gwen didn't race "like ten girls." She ran the NYC Marathon.
A more likely comparison is that out of 21,000 + female runners, Gwen finished 14th. That's
the top .07%.......brah.
