It might help to fully understand Merritt's situation, he broke the rules, but the evidence is pretty clear that he is not in the same category as Gay and Gatlin.

I would like twocategories of,bans. The minor screw up, not getting PED advantage, 1-2 yr ban. Then the, you are clearly doping and got caught, and you are done forever.

The athletes all sign a code of conduct to be in the Olympics and attacking you competitors and teammates is cause for dismissal from the games. The IOC and sports organizations determine who gets to compete, not the athletes.
The solution is to remove any whiny athlete who uses the Olympics as a forum for anything; drugs, Rum Gum, religion, etc. If they athletes cannot honor the code the signed and agreed to they do not belong in the Games.
Those athletes can spew whatever they like after the Games are over.
So, she fails the code of conduct but the drug cheats don't/didn't?

Roughly 1/2 dozen years from now, athletes whom are testing clean will have their samples re-tested and many will fail. Most likely one or more of King's close friends on swim & dive team will fail. It's easy for King to call out a Russian. It's easy for King to call out Gatlin, no one she'll have to cross paths.
Why did you do a scope shift and call out Ethiopian and Kenyan runners this week? If Kenyan or Ethiopian runners smash world records next week, we can address that then. That's a big IF.

Of course it's easy to call out the Russian and Gatlin because they're both confirmed drug cheats, WTF does crossing paths have to do with it?, one she does have to cross paths with competitively and one she doesn't, although I'm sure she may cross paths with Gatlin in other scenarios.

Are you saying she shouldn't call out confirmed drug cheats now because they'll be more drug cheats in the future that haven't been confirmed yet? What's your point?

Do you all know one of the reasons that Lilly King is the one that is speaking up about this? She is a 19-year-old with nothing to lose. She doesn't have a job to worry about, no big contract to lose, no manufactured reputation to destroy. The naivity of youth is giving the anti-doping fight a huge gift.
And thank god for all that. She is calling a spade a spade and saying the things that we need to hear from athletes. Go Hoosiers.
