Who the heck knows what the chinese do but given the doping history in other sports, you would have to be naive to think they wouldn't use anything they thought would give them an advantage.

In the page link above it shows the names Brook and Robert Radcliffe as having posession of EPO. They are triathletes but i'm wondering if they gave a relation to a Paula Radcliffe. Any geneoligists around here?

All that precision crap comes from constant training since birth. But doping of sport horses is a problem just like with human athletes.

Though I'm not that familiar with dressage, I suspect that most of the drugs given to these particular horses are about managing pain that comes from over-training. This is something that's not that hard to do legally, so perhaps the dressage horses are pretty clean.

Having shot both small bore rifle and archery competitively at a decent level, as well as running, I'd say the shooting sports are extremely clean. Technically, would beta blockers lowering heart rate may help, but then again the best shooters don't necessarily have a resting HR that is the lowest in the field. It is a factor, but only one of them.

Unlike running, where I was familiar with people doing various things, I'm not familiar with any shooter doing any sort of performance enhancement.

On the extreme end of what would be clean is trap/skeet shooting. HR plays no role at all there.

You aren't very familiar with the sport:

got enough press that even I remember it happening. I seem to remember someone in like 1910 losing their medals for drinking beer:)
