This!!! I wish everyone would stop diagnosing whether allie has an eating disorder or not, based on looking at her body. eating disorders are MENTAL illnesses. We do NOT know what her eating habits and her thoughts towards food are.

Also, the statement "she has been small her entire life" holds no substance. There's this really cool thing called puberty where girls are supposed to gain weight.

I have no way of knowing whether Allie has disordered eating or not. And unless she has told you about them or you have seen them, you don't either. So please stop making assumptions.

anorexia is equal opportunity, guys can also have disordered eating. perhaps that explains why some men experience stress fractures.

+1 couldn't agree more. Well, minus the puberty bit. I grew up with a girl who has a body type like Allie's and didn't change even once she hit puberty. And for what it is worth, she didn't have an eating disorder.

Exactly! Hasay has always bee extremely good but never unbeatable. At footlocker she won twice but also got beat twice. Girls coming behind her ran faster in high school. Emily Infeld never had the publicity but was always just a few seconds behind Hasay.

As far as saying Hasay has not improved, 31:39 10k is a long way from a 4:14 1500.

Yes....I had 4 during high school and college.

No one would accuse me of having an eating disorder, if anything maybe being a bit heavier helped stress fractures occur for me...in my running days I was 5\\\'11 and 170lbs, I ran the 800-1500 on the track and chugged along through XC.

After the second stress fracture I was sent for a myriad of tests, including bone density, but everything came back fine...All of my stress fractures (both tibias, metatarsal and sacral) can be attribute to training mistakes and being too aggressive..i.e. too much additional mileage to fast, too many work outs in spikes, too many miles on roads without any soft surfaces mixed in, etc.

Once I stopped working out in spikes, and wasn\\\'t stupid I stayed healthy.
