It's laughable at best. Nike will sell more shoes and apparel in the next 10 minutes around the world because of LeBron James than they would by sponsoring Berian for the next 10 YEARS. Serious, substantial and irreparable harm my ass.

In fact you're required to defend your contracts or the next athlete could just walk, they all could walk if they used Boris's behavior as an example.

Sure, Nike is defending their reduction clauses. These clauses are so good that they can be added to contracts without altering the contracts.

lunar trainer, about seven years back, were among their only decent shoes. pegasus are terrible. structure triax abominable. heavy, overcushioned, not long lasting and physically uncomfortable. injury vehicles, essentially. it was shocking to me that they would place a bubble in the sole in such a way as to actually hurt your feet. do they ever even have someone try out their shoes before selling them? I mean, not a yes man?

Rupp is a ROAD RACER now, that's what he is. A has-been track star. Can't go fast anymore so he has to go far instead. There may be money in that but not honor.

Nike is fine, Nike is a pioneer and an innovator. Nike had pros and cons, imho.

Pros:

Innovators, pioneers;

Market leaders;

Love their 2 in 1 shorts;

Quality gear.

Cons:

Nothing besides their shorts fit me well;

Can never find a replacement, confusing part/item numbers and names;

Market leaders that have spread themselves into every niche. Every. Niche. Overexposed. I prefer smaller running-focused companies (talking to you Saucony and Asics);

Confusing web site that is just too much of a behemoth and unmanageable (thus unusable);

Buggy-ass Nike+ iOS app never worked for me, left it for iSmoothRun and RK and never looked back;

Overall, Nike has a thing or two I find useful. Overall, I'm not a fan and look to them only for shorts.

Only attention LRC gets outside of the thousand users it attracts.

Don't make poorly informed generalizations please. Been running in the Elite line daily for about 6-7 years now, and have used lunaracers for workouts/road races for the same duration. I have tried the Brooks and Asics "equivalents" and found injury each time shortly thereafter. Also, I'm a biomechanist so don't jump to the conclusion that I'm simply choosing the "wrong shoe," or rushing the transition to a new shoe. I have the resources and knowledge to make the right shoe decision. This debacle has sort of soured my opinion of Nike even further than the whole sweatshop controversy some years ago. However, their shoes are my "ideal". I can literally run the soles of elites and lunaracers into the ground and not feel beat up at all. It really does suck to have to support the company, but I can get old colorways of Elites for ~$60 on running warehouse so... *shrugs*
