When I was running 70mpw I nearly got divorced because I wanted to have sex with my wife about once a month. I left running due to injury and started doing basically everything else for variety. I look a lot better with extra muscle, but more importantly the sex drive is back. I'm sure it doesn't happen to everybody but running killed mine for years.
XFIT guy is nuts. No Crossfitter is anywhere near the "strongest athlete known to mankind". The strongest athletes carry a significant amount of fat. Watch any of the World's Strongest Man competitions. None of those guys look like a Crossfitter. CrossFit is nothing like the Decathlon. The CrossFit games are just some BS event where points are awarded for who can do the most pullups, box jumps, carry a heavy ball across a mat, etc. Interesting? It is boring as hell to watch.
All the competitors are in love with themselves and got into CrossFit because they couldn't hack it at a real sport. They just made exercising a competition and packaged it to sell to unathletic people. Nothing more than a fade. You want a real athlete, try a Decathlete. While they aren't "shredded" like the CrossFit dopers you worship and who constantly make false claims about how strong and fast they are, Decathletes are far better all around athletes.

Nobody, especially runners on the this site want to admit this but running distance reverses any attempt to build muscle. Except for a couple of freakish guys who carry muscle while running 60 -100 miles a week. 99.9 % lose muscle mass, sometimes quite quickly. That being said, Hall still should run 10-15 miles a week to help with his training.

The norm right here. A little test replacement on high mileage makes a huuuge difference. Dr. Brown definitely a big advantage.

+ 1. I have low t (Hashimoto's disease -> hypothyroid). I can't put on muscle, and my DR indicate that this is typical. It's unusual for a low t person to put on that much muscle in such a short period.
And yes - not sure why Asics would want him...he's promoting running as "dangerous" and "feminine" and lifting as "healthy" and "the process of manhood."

This is so painfully obvious to everyone in the world of running...*except* Ryan. How could he not have figured this out? I blame his "coach". He hasn't stopped running that long, and already he looks vastly different, no doubt with a much improved hormone profile.
All he had to do was take off 1 year, maybe only 6 months, and do next to nothing and his t levels would have improved radically. But he was greedy (or was it OCD) and ran himself into the ground.
If he hadn't adopted a pile of kids, he would probably get bored and the have the time to start running at a high level again.
Finally, Ryan can beat the East Africans...in a UFC match.
Only commenting because he publicly put this out there on social media.
IMO, before picture looks better. And possibly healthier. Doesn't carrying all that muscle increase blood pressure too?
Good for him though for doing what he wants. He's got nothing to prove.
