Rojo, you cannot be serious. There are currently at least 99 athletes who have tested positive for Meldonium, including at least 10 Ethiopians (including Aregawi). There are multiple investigations ongoing and serious about doping in Kenya and Ethiopia. It is quite likely that some of the top 5k/10k guys will be caught up in this. And to this point there has been no indication that NOP is caught up in this (the funny thing is that they were taking L-Carnitine, which seems to increase fat burning, whereas Meldonium seems to suppress Carnitine to increase glucose burning--they are essentially the opposite drug).

Look, Rojo is the dimwit twin so it's somewhat forgivable. Wejo, the doping twin, is reprehensible for continuing to allow this "clean sport" partisanship because he paced another doping female to a doped up marathon record.

Note that I never said or implied that Rupp would run well at this 3k. In fact, I questioned Salazar's judgment for letting him try this. 7:48's still good for coming back from that marathon so quickly, but he never should have run it. You need to rest after a marathon--not necessarily a long time--and cut out speed work for some time. But athletes do get substantial help from training for a marathon, because they are exercising energy systems they have not developed adequately to that point, and then they have greater strength and probably toughness to apply as they recover and start faster training again. I would give it about 4-5 months to get the full benefit, as in Ritz's case.

You have no clue. What benefit did Mo Farah get after training for a marathon? IF you were more educated, you'd know that Farah and Rupp were already better trained for the marathon than most, with or without specifically targeting one. Rupp is NOT going to break 13 minutes again. Please, you people need to pay heed to your superiors.

Considering that he is not focusing on the 5000, this is not a terribly courageous position to take. Are you saying he will jot go sub 27 again or won't be in contention in a championship 10000 when the kicking starts?

Honestly, I do not think that I could be more educated. Looking at this site for about 14-15 years in itself is more than enough, right? Mo Farah was having trouble with fainting that year. The marathon didn't hurt him, however. He went on the following year to set the indoor two mile best and dominate World's again.
